On May 28, 1974, Muraco reversed Jack Brisco's finisher, the figure four leglock, in a match for the National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Championship. Even though Muraco lost the match by disqualification, this feat made him a star.

Under the guidance of manager the Grand Wizard, the Magnificent Muraco captured the World Wrestling Entertainment Intercontinental Championship on June 20, 1981 from Pedro Morales. Muraco used a foreign object to knock out Morales during the match.

Muraco lost the title back to Morales on November 23, 1981 in a "Texas Death" match. On January 22, 1983, Muraco regained the title from Morales.

In 1983, the Magnificent Muraco feuded with "Captain" Lou Albano's former protégé, Jimmy Snuka. The feud culminated on October 17, 1983 in a steel cage match at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Snuka lost the match, but dragged Muraco back into the ring after the match and hit the "Superfly Splash" finisher on Muraco from the top of the fifteen foot high steel cage.

During his matches, the Magnificent Muraco portrayed an arrogant villain who angrily demanded respect from the fans. Even though he never cut the hair of his defeated opponent, the Magnificent Muraco engaged in disrespectful behavior himself during his matches. Sometimes he brought a submarine sandwich to the ring and ate it as he dominated his opponent. On other occasions, he would begin his matches by dedicating his finishing move, the piledriver, to either the heel commentator calling the match or whomever he was feuding with at the time. Because of his arrogant behavior, the audiences regularly mocked Muraco and his Hawaiian origins with "beach bum" chants.

On July 8, 1985 in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the Magnificent Muraco defeated the Iron Sheik via pinfall to win the first World Wrestling Entertainment's "King of the Ring" tournament. The Magnificent Muraco also defeated the Junkyard Dog, Les Thornton and Pedro Morales via pinfall during the tournament.

Mister Fuji and the Magnificent Muraco did a series of skits called "Fuji General" which was a parody of the ABC television show "General Hospital". "The Fuji Bandito" was a skit by Mister Fuji and the Magnificent Muraco which parodied Western television programs.

King Kong Bundy interfered in a match on the March 1, 1986 episode of World Wrestling Entertainment's "Saturday Night's Main Event" between the Magnificent Muraco and Hulk Hogan. Bundy's interference caused a disqualification win for Hogan. This interference revealed a setup orchestrated by Muraco, Bundy and Bobby Heenan to injure Hogan. Muraco held Hogan chest first into the corner of the ring while King Kong Bundy delivered an "Avalanche Splash" to the prone Hogan. Hogan's ribs were broken.

On April 7, 1986 at the World Wrestling Entertainment's "WrestleMania II" event, King Kong Bundy faced the injured Hulk Hogan while Paul Orndorff faced the Magnificent Muraco.

Answer: "Superstar" Billy Graham

"Superstar" Billy Graham was retired him from professional wrestling from an attack by Butch Reed, One Man Gang and Slick. During this attack, which aired on the November 14, 1987 episode of of World Wrestling Entertainment's "Superstars of Wrestling", the Magnificent Muraco came to Graham's aid. Graham subsequently became Muraco's manager after this incident. Don Muraco became a babyface wrestler and changed his name from the Magnificent Muraco to Don "the Rock" Muraco.

On October 24, 1992, Don Muraco defeated Jimmy Snuka to win the the Eastern Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Championship.
