Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This "Man in Black" married this, "Keep on the Sunny Side" singer in 1968. Who is this duo?

Answer: Johnny and June Carter Cash

Johnny and June actually met backstage at The Grand Ole Opry in the 60s. They were married on March 1, 1968. They had one child together, John Carter Cash, who was born in 1970. June and Johnny both passed away in 2003. Johnny, we'll never forget your major hit, "I Walk the Line".
2. Burt Reynolds and Jackie Gleason teamed up a couple of times, as a strange sort of partnership. Oh Junior, please tell me the name of this duo?

Answer: Smokey and the Bandit

Burt Reynolds played the Bandit, Bo Darville, in this cute comedy back in 1977. The Frog, played by Sally Field, was supposed to marry Junior, but escaped at the last minute. Buford T. Justice was not up to seeing his son stood up at the altar and was out for "justice!"

Junior was not the smartest man in the world and Buford was quite sure that, "there's no way, no WAY that you came from my loins", as he said to his son in the movie. Gleason and Reynolds were the best team around.
3. Stan and Oliver were a great pair of comics. Their antics were nothing short of hilarious. What is their last names?

Answer: Laurel and Hardy

Laurel and Hardy teamed up for the first time in "The Lucky Dog". They had the funniest antics, with either the mustache move or the tie twirling, they were great. Their first full length movie was "Pardon Us" which was released in 1931.

Stanley was married to five different women during this lifetime. Dick Van Dyke portrayed Stanley in his television show, "The Dick Van Dyke Show". Stanley passed away in 1965 and Ollie died earlier, in 1957. Ollie was the leader, the sort of bossy character of the two. Oliver was in over 400 short movies during his career, but there was nothing short about their partnership.
4. MTV featured these two cartoon characters that were voiced by Mike Judge. Can you name these two 'cool' characters?

Answer: Beavis and Butt-head

It's hard to believe that the person that voices both Beavis and Butt-head was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. He not only voices the characters, but created them, as well. Mike Judge was nominated for a few Emmy Awards for the television show, "King of the Hill". Beavis and Butt-head both had a small role in the original "Austin Powers" movie. Pretty cool dude! Har har har!
5. David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser were partners in this detective television show in the late 70s. Of course, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson tried to recreate "the team" again in 2004. What is the name of this television show and movie?

Answer: Starsky and Hutch

The television series was far from a comedy. The show was nominated for a Golden Globe for the Best TV Series - Drama in 1978, not winning the Award. The mini-series, "Roots" beat them out that year. Detective Ken Hutchinson was played by David Soul, who went into a singing career recording the song, "Don't Give Up on Us Baby". Paul Michael Glaser was the second half of the duo, as David Starsky. Paul's wife, who was an activist for the AIDS disease, died of AIDS in 1994. Luckily Paul found love again with Tracy Barone and they were married in 1996.
6. This father and son team went fishing together and talked together and just had a good ole time together. Every once in a while, the deputy, Barney, barged in on their good times, but that was okay with this pair. What father and son pair is this?

Answer: Andy and Opie Taylor

Andy was a single father and very good one at that. He took care of his son, Opie, the best way he knew how. Luckily he had Aunt Bee to help them out with the cooking and the cleaning. Barney, the ditzy deputy, was a cousin of Andy. He always tried to teach Opie between right and wrong. "The Andy Griffith Show" debuted in 1960 and stemmed many more shows and movies, including "Return to Mayberry" in 1986.
7. This 'team' paired up in, "Send Me No Flowers", "Lover Come Back" and my favorite, "Pillow Talk". Who was this 'bedroom couple' in these movies?

Answer: Rock Hudson and Doris Day

Rock Hudson and Doris Day had this special type of friendship. Rock wasn't interested in girls and Doris was the ever so sweet friend to him. Doris was married to many men, but Rock Hudson was not one of them. They had such a special on-screen romance, that no one knew that Rock was not interested in her, in that way. What a pair they were.
8. This team kept us laughing with such great movies as, "The Caddy", "Scared Stiff" and "That's My Boy", to name just a few. What great comedy team is this?

Answer: Lewis and Martin

Dean Martin was the serious one, the romantic one, the crooner of the duo. He never knew that teaming up with the wacky Lewis would be the best thing for his career. The team broke up, with each going their separate ways. Martin went on to star in "Cannonball Run" years later with Burt Reynolds. Jerry Lewis was a goofball and remained the goofy one, even after the split. It wasn't the same though, not without his previous partner. He did pick up the Lifetime Achievement Award of Comedy in 1998 at the American Comedy Awards. They were great together!
9. Let's see, we had "Roads to Rio, Utopia, Morocco and Riches". Road to Riches?! I don't think so! But this team did pull in the bucks with the many "Road" movies that they teamed up in. What great team is this?

Answer: Bing Crosby and Bob Hope

Bob Hope was the funny one in this pair. I never really pictured Bing Crosby the comic type, being so straight laced and all, but he was great when he teamed up with Bob Hope. Dorothy Lamour was the threesome in the "Road" movies. Together, they were great, nothing short of success. Let's pop up some popcorn and rent some "Road" movies tonight boys!
10. This duo performed such spectacular magic acts at the beautiful Mirage Casino. Prior to appearing at the Mirage Casino, they performed with their beautiful white tigers at the Frontier Hotel and Casino. What duo is this?

Answer: Siegfried and Roy

Siegfried and Roy are not new to the celebrity status. They've been in few movies over the years, including "Ocean's Eleven" and "Vegas Vacation". All the magic disappeared on October 3, 2003, when one the tigers 'attacked' Roy, dragging him off stage, during a show at the Mirage. Why did the tiger do this? What were the reasons? We'll never know what actually happened, but we do know that Roy was lucky to be alive after such an ordeal. I don't know if the magic will ever be seen again, but we'll keep anticipating your next trick, gentlemen.

Thanks for playing partner!
