Cesar Romero played the Joker in numerous episodes of "Batman" over its three seasons as well as the 1966 movie adaptation. This version of the Joker tried many interesting approaches from portraying himself as a great artist, to trying to corrupt the youth of Gotham City via slot machines to stealing the "surfing mojo" of a famous surf boarder. Cesar Romero (1907-1994) was an actor who was well-known for playing "Latin lover" characters in movies in middle twentieth century. One feature of his version of the character was Romero's unwillingness to shave off his mustache. If you look closely, you can see it under the grease paint that he wore to play the Joker.
2. Batman (1989 motion picture)

Jack Nicholson portrayed the Joker in the first of two Batman movies directed by Tim Burton. The movie shows Joker's origin as a criminal who is disfigured by a vat of chemicals.
