"Erin Brockovich" is a 2000 film. It is a true underdog story. Erin is a woman with no formal training who takes on a huge corporation and wins.

Answer: The Rainmaker

Rudy Baylor briefly worked as a Paralegal, but when he passed the bar examination, he took on Deck Shifflet as his paralegal. Deck had a law degree but had failed the bar examination six times.
