1. Jim Gaffigan

Gaffigan is known for his clean comedy routines that focuses on fatherhood, food and everyday life. His wife, actress, Jeannie Noth Gaffigan, is a co-writer with him and the mother of five children. A native of Illinois, he has also appeared in over sixty movies.

4. Jerry Seinfeld

Seinfeld began his stand-up comedy career during college and received his first big break when asked to appear on Rodney Dangerfield's HBO Comedy Special. In 1988 he pitched an idea to NBC for a sitcom about four friends that live in New York City. "Seinfeld" aired for nine years becoming America's most watched show.
The comedy won seventy-awards including ten Prime Time Emmy Awards. Seinfeld decided to leave the show and returned to stand-up comedy. He is married to author Jessica Sklar Seinfeld.
The couple has three children.
5. Flip Wilson

Clerow "Flip" Wilson Jr. was a comedian who was vaulted to stardom when he became the first African American to host his own television variety show. "The Flip Wilson Show" won a Golden Globe Award and Two Emmy Awards. His album "The Devil Made Me Buy this Dress" , which featured his portrayal of his most famous character Geraldine, won Wilson a Grammy Award.
His big break came when Redd Foxx told Johnny Carson that Wilson was one of the best new comedians in the country. He died in 1998 at the age of sixty-four.
6. Harry Houdini

Born in Hungary as Erik Weisz, Houdini was a magician who was famous for his escape acts. After finding little success with card tricks, he began concentrating on escape acts. Soon he was in demand as he escaped from handcuffs, straitjackets while underwater and sealed milk cans. One of his most famous feats was escaping from a straitjacket, while lying in a casket that was buried in sand.
He also starred in movies and was an aviator, becoming the first person to fly a powered aircraft in Australia.
He died in 1926 at the age of 52.
7. Leon Mandrake

Born Leon Giglio, he went by that stage names Leon Mandrake and "Mandrake the Magician". Growing up in Canada, he began watching magicians perform at Vaudeville shows and circuses that came to his town. At eleven years old he began his career performing in vaudeville shows in British Columbia.
He was known for his black top hat, black cape, and handlebar mustache which resembled a comic strip character also called Mandrake the Magician. The strip's artist, Phil Davis and Leon agreed to cross-promote each other, an arrangement that benefitted them both.
His career lasted over sixty years. His final performance was in 1986, and he died of emphysema in 1993.
8. David Copperfield

David Kotkin, who performs under the name David Copperfield, has one over twenty Emmy Awards and has set eleven Guinness World Records over his career. Known for his illusions, his acts have included the disappearance of an airplane, the disappearance and reappearance of the Statue of Liberty and hovering in air over the Grand Canyon.
In 2011 Copperfield was as named "Magician of the Century" by the Society of American Magicians.
9. Doug Henning

The Canadian born Henning became interested in magic after seeing a magician on the "Ed Sullivan Show". He performed magic while in high school but decided to pursue a psychology degree in college. To make money while in college, Henning and his friend, Mars Barrick, partnered up and started doing vaudeville type shows in bars.
Their show was a success and Henning decided he needed more training in acting and in performing magic if he was to pursue this career. His training led him to produce a musical magic show on Broadway that ran for over four years.
He also, for a time, had a solo show on Broadway. Around 1985 he retired and moved to India and took up the study of Transcendental Meditation. He died in 2000 from cancer at the age of 52.
10. Teller

Teller is part of the magician duo "Penn and Teller", partnering with Penn Jillette. Born Raymond Teller he legally changed his name to just "Teller". He was a high school Greek and Latin teacher before pursuing a career in magic. The pair were introduced by a common friend in 1974.
The three worked together for several years until their friend decided to quit show business, so Penn and Teller were formed on 1981. Teller is known for remaining mostly silent during their comedy/magic routine. They have their own television show, "Penn and Teller: Fool Us" which began in 2011.
They also hold the record for headlining a show the longest at the same hotel in Las Vegas.
11. Sam Eagle

Sam Eagle is a bald eagle with bushy eyebrows. He is known for his zealous patriotism and pompous attitude. The puppet, which was designed by Jim Henson and built by Don Sahlin, made his first appearance in 1975 on the TV series "The Muppet Show". He was a regular on the show and has appeared in every Muppet movie. According to Frank Oz, who was the performer for Sam until 2005, the patriotic eagle would like to clean up the entire world's morals but "regrets that it takes all his time and energy just to keep up with The Muppet Show." 12. Gonzo the Great

Gonzo is a Muppet who performs ill- advised stunts with great gusto. Two of his most famous are tap dancing to "Top Hat" in a vat of oatmeal and enthusiastically eating a rubber tire to the music of "The Flight of the Bumblebee". Gonzo was developed by Dave Goelz and made his first appearance in 1970.
There is a debate regarding what kind of species he is. He has indigo fur, purple feathers on his head, big bug-eyes, and a long, hooked nose or beak. He self-identifies as a "whatever". While performing his acts he is introduced as "Gonzo the Great", "The Great Gonzo", or sometimes as "Gonzo the Whatever".
13. Guy Smiley

Guy Smiley is the excitable and overly enthusiastic game show host that appears on Sesame Street. The Muppet was designed by Jim Henson. The character first appeared in 1969 under the name Sonny Friendly. He was voiced by Henson, until his death, and Eric Jacobson.
