Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who used to sponsor Space Mountain?

Answer: RCA

There used to be audio at some points inside while you were waiting in line. At one of these points you would hear, "Space Lab Alpha fight control is tracking departing space shuttles with RCA communication systems. Shuttles are in audio and visual contact with Earth mission control."
2. Which ride was ORIGINALLY where Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is now?

Answer: If You Had Wings

It was sponsered by Eastern Airlines. (I still have my Eastern Airline wings I got on my first trip to Disney World.)
3. What ride was ORIGINALLY where Alien Encounter is now?

Answer: Mission to the Moon

I'm not a big fan of Alien Encounter, but it sure is a lot better than the lame Mission to the Moon ever was!
4. What attraction was replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh?

Answer: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

My sister and I LOVED this ride! They should have kept it and put Pooh somewhere else.
5. What was the name of the restaurant upstairs in Cinderella's castle originally called?

Answer: King Stefan's Banquet Hall.

On my very first trip to the Magic Kingdom we ate there. For my girls' first trip to the Magic Kingdom I was lucky enough to get reservations for the coveted Cinderella character breakfast there. It was magical both times!
6. Which attraction's theme song used to be "Now is the Time"?

Answer: The Carousel of Progress

"Now is the time. Now is the best time. Now is the best time of your life."
7. Finish this lyric to "Now is the Time": "Life is a prize! ____ ____ ____!"

Answer: Live every minute

"Life is a prize! Live every minute! Open your eyes and watch how you win it. Yesterday's memories may sparkle and gleam, tomorrow is still but a dream. Right here and now, you've got it made! The world's forward marching and you're in the parade!"
8. Which of these rides has remained the same since the Magic Kingdom's opening?

Answer: None of these have remained the same.

Astro Orbiter has been given a "facelift" so it looks more futuristic than it did. The Carousel of Progress has had it's theme song changed, added a holiday to every scene, and updated the scene that takes place in the present so it better reflects life today. Of course The Hall of Presidents is always changing every time a new President is elected.
9. How has Dumbo the Flying Elephant changed over the years?

Answer: Dumbo has changed both ways.

There are several more flying Dumbos than there used to be; and a lever has replaced the button you used to push to make your Dumbo go up. One thing hasn't changed, however, the LONG LINE!
10. What of these was the only "land" in the Magic Kingdom that was NOT originally part of the park?

Answer: Mickey's Toontown Fair

When it was first added it was Mickey's Birthdayland, then Mickey's Starland, and now Mickey's Toontown Fair.
