This poem was printed onto one piece of a map that showed where one of the Four Sisters was. One of the Shadow Lord's servants printed it on.

Delicious fruit lures victims to the orchard where there is bitter skin and sweet flesh. The flesh makes the eater sleep so that the giant bird comes and eats the victims. The skin is the antidote to the sleeping flesh.

Broome, which is the city built over the ruins of Capra is where at sunset, Lief saw Capra.
