Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Winging It", when did Mel die?

Answer: The day after her thirteenth birthday

She was run over by a joyrider. She says that she remembered a silence for ages, but with faint music. Then, she was suddenly outside the gates of the Angel Academy.
2. In "Losing the Plot", what was Shakespeare known as?

Answer: Chance

You find out that "Chance" is Shakespeare at the end of "Losing the Plot" which is Mel's second adventure. She and her friends Lola and Reuben go to Elizabethan times to help three teenagers. Shakespeare is one of them, of course. Another is his true love and girlfriend, Catherine "Cat" Darcy.

The last is a boy named Nick, who ends up being taken by the Opposition, or PODS, as Mel and her friends call them.
3. In "Flying High", what is the name of the boy in France leading the Children's Crusade?

Answer: Stephen

Mel is called out on a mission with her friends at her best friend Lola's birthday party. They have to help the kids with the Children's Crusade. She ends up jumping into the future, along with her friends. There she runs into an old enemy, a "cosmic drop-out" named Brice. There they all manage to save Brice's younger brother from evil relatives.
4. In "Calling the Shots", what is Mel's fake name when she pretends to be human on her mission?

Answer: Violet

Mel is on a solo mission to be a guardian angel to a girl named Honesty. After Honesty's father dies, her mother Grace finds out the family is broke, and she takes Honesty, her sister Rose and her brothers Clem and Lenny to San Francisco. During the ride there, Mel has to help Honesty, who is so unhappy about her dad's death, that she is an easy target for the PODS. Mel poses as a normal girl when the family gets to Los Angeles, and she is known as "Violet".
5. In "Fogging Over", who is Lola's new boyfriend?

Answer: Brice

Brice got back into Heaven, and Mel ended up going on a mission with him and Lola. Lola got really mad because Brice and Mel kept trying to fight over her attention. Then Mel kept getting at Brice, going on about his dark past, and Brice started mocking her.
6. In "Fighting Fit", which Roman triplet dies?

Answer: Star

Mel goes on a trip to Ancient Rome and has to look after Aurelia, a Christian girl. Mel is posing as a slave named Mella, although Aurelia treats her as a friend. She has to get Aurelia together with her spiritual and physical triplets, girl gladiator Star, and religious girl Lucilla. At the end Mel finds out that her family tree started from Aurelia.
7. In "Making Waves", Mel loses her memory at one point.

Answer: Yes

Mel, Lola and Brice are going on a joint mission in seventeenth-century Jamaica, but Lola and Brice lose their memories and think they are the humans they are posing as. Mel loses her memory for a short time too, then a few minutes after arriving in Jamaica, she remembers that she is an angel. Although Lola and Brice don't really realize they know her, they are still an item.
8. In "Budding Star", in Level 2 Limbo, what is Tsubomi in the daytime?

Answer: a wolf

When Mel and her friend Reuben have to help find the soul of a fourteen-year-old Japanese pop star, Mel sees the challenge as a game. The first level is about earth. When they win, they get more energy, and are upgraded from poor peasants to ninjas. There they meet Tsubomi, who tells them she is only a girl at night, but she has to break a curse which makes her a wolf by day.

They go on to Level 4 at last, and Tsubomi at last realizes that she will be OK going back to her Japanese life.
9. In "Keeping It Real", which human hears Mel talking first?

Answer: Sky

Sky hears Mel asking about Jax and Karmen, and says she is sick of Karmen, then she is just about convinced she can hear her dead friend and gasps "Mel?" But the connection is soon broken, although later Mel's half-sister Jade hears Mel in her sleep, and murmurs "Love you, Mel." She also dreams about Mel's heaven, and witnesses Mel and Brice fighting a hell dog.
Mel fails to help Sky, although she manages to reunite her two other friends Jax and Karmen.
10. In "Going For Gold", what is the name of Mel's Dark side?

Answer: Maia

When Mel has her upgrade, Maia appears, and pretends to be an angel, and Mel has to pass "The Test" and beat Maia. Mel finally realizes Maia is one of the PODS when she tries to fool a girl named Amisi into thinking a scorpion is a lotus flower. Lola helps Mel to pass the Test and not let Maia know she is around by turning herself into a cat.
At the end of the story, Mel is waiting for her inner angel to come back.
