Answer: Wimbledon

Wimbledon is a very major tournament in tennis but not a world championship. The Cricket World Cup is considered to be the world championship of limited overs cricket (one-day cricket). The world championship of Formula One (F1) car racing is determined by a 17-race point system. The FIFA World Cup represents the world championship of soccer.

Answer: Basketball

In basketball, it is illegal to knock the ball away from the goal once the ball is on the way down towards the basket. Otherwise, all the teams would have very tall players to just stand near the goal and knock all the balls away. The penalty is a scored basket for the shooting team.
Protecting the goal is of course critical in the other sports listed. These sports have a goaltender/keeper and his/her job is to knock the ball away from the goal.

Answer: Barry Bonds

Barry Bonds hit an amazing 73 home runs for the San Francisco Giants in 2001. The previous record was 70 by Mark McGwire of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1998. He broke the record of 61 homers by Roger Maris of the New York Yankees in 1961. Maris broke the record of 60 homers in 1927 by the immortal Babe Ruth of the New York Yankees.
9. Who was John Heisman?

Answer: A famous American football coach with a trophy named in his honor.

John Heisman was a great American football coach. He coached seven different colleges with his greatest sucess at Georgia Tech from 1904-1919. In 1935, the Downtown Athletic Club in New York decided to give an award each year to the best college football player. They named the award The Heisman Trophy in honor of John Heisman.
10. The baseball Little League World Series is held in what city?
