"Harry Potter" - as Told by Hermione Granger Quiz

Hermione Granger is my favorite character in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, so I thought I'd make a quiz from her prespective. Good luck, and enjoy!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher taught us defensive magical theory, but not the actual spells, in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"?

Answer: Umbridge

Professor Umbridge was appointed by the Ministry of Magic as Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher in our fifth year ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"). All she did during class, though, was have us read an exceptionally boring book called "Defensive Magical Theory" by Wilbert Slinkhard. Later, she caught Harry attempting to use the Floo Network to contact Sirius Black, and tried to use the Cruciatus Curse on Harry. I tricked Umbridge into coming into the Forbidden Forest, where she was carried off by centaurs.

Unfortunately, I nearly got us killed in the process.
2. Who rescued Harry and me from the centaurs in the forest after they carried off Professor Umbridge in "The Order of the Phoenix"?

Answer: Grawp

Grawp was a giant, and Hagrid's half-brother. Hagrid introduced us to him during a Quiddich match, and asked us to teach him to speak English. Hagrid was letting Grawp roam the forest, and he recognized me and chased off the centaurs. Ron, Ginny, Luna, and Neville came soon after that, with our wands, and we flew off on thestrals to the Department of Mysteries to rescue Harry's godfather.
3. In our first year ("Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"), Harry receives what gift from an unknown person, along with a note that says it once belonged to Harry's father?

Answer: An Invisibility Cloak

An Invisibility Cloak provides nearly impenetrable concealment from anyone and everyone. According to Luna Lovegood's father, it is also the third of the Deathly Hallows. Harry used the Cloak to hide from people such as Argus Filch, Hogwarts' caretaker, and Professor Snape, when he snuck out of bed at night to go exploring.

It served us well in our seventh year ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"), when we had to hide from Voldemort's Death Eaters and the Ministry of Magic. The only person who could see through Harry's Cloak was Professor Moody.
4. What is the name of the creature that I figured out lives - or lived, before Harry killed it - in the Chamber of Secrets?

Answer: A basilisk, the king of serpents

I was holding a page from a library book about basilisks when I was Petrified. This helped Harry and Ron solve the mystery of the strange voice Harry was hearing, and also how that creature was getting around. Harry was able to locate the entrance thanks to Hagrid's giant pet spider and got into the Chamber.

He killed the basilisk and Tom Riddle, rescued Ginny, and earned 200 points for Gryffindor House, making us the winners of the House Cup for the second year in a row.
5. What spell did I use on Neville Longbottom in our first year to prevent him stopping me, Harry, and Ron from going after the Sorcerer's Stone?

Answer: Petrificus Totalus

Petrificus Totalus is the Full Body-Bind Curse. It freezes the victim, preventing them from moving in any way except for breathing and blinking. Quite useful for putting an opponent out of action without killing. Draco Malfoy uses this in our sixth year to trap Harry, preventing him from getting off the Hogwarts Express.
6. What are the three types of coins we use in the Wizarding world?

Answer: Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts

Galleons are gold, Sickles are silver, and Knuts are bronze. Hagrid told Harry this before the start of his first year (in "The Philosopher's Stone"), when he took him shopping for school supplies in Diagon Alley. There are nineteen Knuts to a Sickle, and twenty-seven Sickles to a Galleon.
7. What is my Patronus?

Answer: An otter

These are all actual Patronuses, but the one that is mine is the otter. The swan is Cho Chang's, the phoenix is Dumbledore's, and the horse is Ginny Weasley's. I cast this for the first time in "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix".
8. Where did I first cast my Patronus, in "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix"?

Answer: In the Room of Requirement

I cast my first Patronus, an otter, in the Room of Requirement in our fifth year during a DA meeting. At the Battle of Hogwarts, dementors came at us, and I tried casting a Patronus, but it flickered out. At the Ministry of Magic, I cast a Patronus to lead all the other Muggle-born witches and wizards there out to the fireplaces, where they could escape.
9. Who ended up being Confunded by a charm I cast during the Quidditch trials in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"?

Answer: Cormac McLaggen

The other three were all on the Gryffindor Quidditch team in Harry's sixth year. Ron was Keeper, Ginny was a Chaser and then the Seeker, and Demelza Robins was another Chaser. I cast the Confundus charm on McLaggen because a) he insulted Ron and Ginny and b) his personality, I'm sure, would've deprived the Gryffindor team of practice time. I was right, too, because when he played Keeper in a real Quidditch match, McLaggen let in a goal because he was too busy yelling at Ginny for letting a Hufflepuff steal the Quaffle.

He even mishit a Bludger, knocking it into Harry's head, and Gryffindor lost because their captain (and Seeker!) was unconscious.
10. In the Battle of Hogwarts, which took place in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", whom did I duel (with two others to help me)?

Answer: Bellatrix Lestrange

I never did duel Lord Voldemort. The two Malfoys were indeed inside Hogwarts, but they weren't even fighting. They were frantically hunting for their son, Draco. I dueled Bellatrix Lestrange, along with Ginny and Luna. When Bellatrix nearly killed Ginny, Mrs. Weasley pushed us out of the way and dueled Bellatrix, finally killing her.
