Lord Voldemort says that is he who must get rid of Harry Potter - nobody else. He borrows Lucius Malfoy's wand, to see if this wand is better. Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks have recently got married. Lord Voldemort kills the Professor who taught Muggle Studies at Hogwarts, Professor Charity Burbage, with the Avada Kedavra curse. He then allows Nagini, his snake, to eat her.

Harry is unpacking his school trunk for the first time for six years, and putting aside things he might need for the Horcrux Hunt. Elphias Doge's article shreds new light on the early life of Albus Dumbledore. Albus's father was sent to Azkaban. Not only did Albus have his brother, Aberforth, but a younger sister, Ariana, too. Rita Skeeter has written Albus Dumbledore's biography: "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore".

It looks at if Rita is writing lies again. Harry looks at Sirius's mirror, that Sirius gave Harry for Christmas two years ago, is almost broken beyond repair.

There is only a tiny fragment left. Harry is sure he saw the reflection of one of Albus Dumbledore's eyes in the mirror, but it is gone again.

Answer: Kingsley Shacklebolt

Vernon likes Kingsley because he is looking after the Muggle Prime Minister. The Dursley family is in grave danger. As soon as Harry turns 17, Privet Drive will lose the protection it had. The family is being taken to a place of safety by the Order of the Phoenix. Before they leave, Dudley says to Harry "I don't think you're a waste of space", and actually shakes Harry's hand. Vernon and Petunia are not as generous.

It will be the last time Harry sees the Dursley family.

Professor Mad Eye Moody comes to collect Harry - but he is not alone. He is with five Weasleys - Ron, Fred, George, Bill and Arthur, Fleur Delacour, Hermione, Tonks, Remus Lupin, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Mundungus Fletcher, and, finally, Hagrid. Harry must get away from Privet Drive without Lord Voldemort knowing, and before he turns 17.

The Polyjuice Potion is used, to create six "fake Harry's" who are going to twelve different safe houses. During the escape from Privet Drive, Harry (and the others) is chased by Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort himself.

Hedwig the owl is killed during the escape.

Answer: Ollivander

Ollivander is the prisoner in the cellar of Malfoy Manor. Harry and Hagrid manage to get to The Burrow safely. George Weasley has lost an ear during the flight. Severus Snape cursed it off, Snape was with the Death Eaters. And Alastor "Mad Eye" Moody has been killed, during the flight, his body was never found.

Answer: Charlie Weasley

Although the Weasley twins would make extremely entertaining best men, Bill decides to play safe, and has Charlie, who is the second eldest of the Weasleys. Percy is still estranged from the Weasley family. The wedding of Bill and Fleur is going to be the day after Harry's birthday. Harry decides to stay for the wedding, and then leave for the Horcrux Hunt, accompanied by Ron and Hermione.

Hermione has modified her parents' memories, so they do not know they even have a daughter, and they are not in danger. Ron has disguised the Weasley's ghoul, who lives in the attic, as himself.

When Ron doesn't turn up at Hogwarts. The Ministry will find "Ron" at home, seriously ill with Spattergroit.

Answer: Godric Gryffindor's sword

Although Albus Dumbledore was not close to either Ron or Hermione he leaves them something each too. He has left Ron his Deluminator. It is like a cigarette lighter, which can suck out all the light from a place. Meanwhile, Hermione is left a book "The Tales of Beedle the Bard".

It has runes on it and is an old book. The sword belonged to Professor Dumbledore and Hogwarts, according to Rufus Scrimgeour, who comes to read the will. He refuses to give to Harry. The Golden Snitch is special however.

Not only are Snitches good to hide small items, Snitches have flesh memories - they remember the people who first handle them. Later, Harry examines the Snitch. It has words on it: "I open at the close". Harry cannot open it though.

Harry uses Polyjuice to become just another Weasley, to attend the wedding. Mr Lovegood and Luna don't live very far from the Weasley home. Mr Lovegood is wearing a strange symbol around his neck - he is defiantly as strange as his daughter. Viktor Krum attends the wedding, by Fleur's request.

He says the symbol around Mr Lovegood's neck is the symbol of Grindelwald, who was a Dark Wizard whom Albus Dumbledore defeated. Great Aunt Muriel, Ron's Aunt, gossips about Rita Skeeter's new book, "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore". According to her, the book is not all that far from the truth.

The Dumbledore family lived at Godric's Hollow, as did Harry and his parents. Ariana Dumbledore died in suspicious circumstances. The wedding comes to an abrupt halt when Kingsley Shacklebolt's Patronus, a lynx, appears, and announces that the Ministry has fallen. Rufus Scrimgeour is dead and the Death Eaters are on their way.

The Trio manage to escape from the wedding, unharmed, and apparate into Tottenham Court Road, in London. Danger is not far away as two Death Eaters follow them. The Trio manage to escape again, and go to Grimmauld Place. Grimmauld Place seemed to have been searched.

Answer: A toy broomstick

Harry reads an old letter from Lily Potter, in Sirius's bedroom. The Trio find out who R.A.B. from the note in the fake locket. It was Sirius's brother, Regulus Arcturus Black. The locket Horcrux, that they need, was in Grimmauld Place two years ago, but Mundungus Fletcher pinched it. Kreacher tells them all about Regulus.

The locket belonged to Regulus. Regulus asked Kreacher to help him. Lord Voldemort needed a House Elf.and took Kreacher to a cave. The same cave that Harry and Professor Dumbledore went to the year before. Lord Voldemort made Kreacher drink the potion, the same potion that Professor Dumbledore drank, and dropped a locket into the basin, before filling it up again. Regulus summoned Kreacher back to Grimmauld Place. Regulus took Kreacher back to the cave. Regulus drank the potion, but he also had an identical locket to the one that Lord Voldemort put in the basin.

He swapped the lockets over, and told Kreacher to return to Grimmauld Place, and destroy the locket that Lord Voldemort had placed in the basin. Regulus fell into the lake. Kreacher tried to destroy the locket but he was unable too because it had too many dark charms on it that he did not know. Harry gives Kreacher the fake locket.

This completely changes Kreacher's personality. He begins to respect the Trio.

Remus Lupin comes to Grimmauld Place. He tells the Trio that Tonks is expecting a baby, but he is not happy. He is frightened that the baby will be a werewolf too, and Tonks parents do not approve of the marriage. He wants to leave Tonks behind, and go on the Horcrux Hunt with the Trio. Harry says Lupin is a coward and Lupin leaves the house. Kreacher returns with Mundungus Fletcher. Mundungus admits that he did steal the locket.

He was selling when a Ministry official asked him if he had a licence for trading magical artefacts.

The Ministry official took a liking to the locket. She never gave any money to Mundungus. Mundungus describes the woman as a Ministry hag, a little woman with a bow on top of her head. She looked like a toad.

Answer: Severus Snape

Alecto Carrow is teaching Muggle Studies, while Amycus Carrow (Alecto's brother) teaches Defence Against the Dark Arts. The Carrows are Death Eaters, and they were at Hogwarts the night Dumbledore died. The Trio plan to get into the Ministry of Magic, and get the locket Horcrux from Dolores Umbridge.

Answer: Cherry, eight-and-three-quarter inches

The Trio manage to Polyjuice themselves into Ministry officials and get into the Ministry of Magic. Mrs Cattermole is on trial, to see if she is a pureblood or a Muggle-born. The Ministry are stopping the Muggle-Borns attending Hogwarts. The Trio manage to get the locket Horcrux, and then try to get back Grimmauld Place.

Answer: Essence of Dittany

The Trio have apparated into a forest. They did not manage get into Grimmauld Place - Yaxley grabbed Hermione as she left the Ministry. Ron has Splinched himself, he is injured. Grimmauld Place is no longer safe. Harry's scar burns and he sees Lord Voldemort torturing Gregorovitch. Voldemort seems to want something from Gregorovitch, but Gregorovitch says this item was stolen from him many years ago. Harry sees Lord Voldemort reading Gregorovitch's mind, and sees Gregorovitch in a kind of workshop. Harry sees another person, a young man, in the workshop. Harry sees the youth taking something.

Answer: Albus Dumbledore

The Trio are taking turns in wearing the Horcrux locket. The Trio overhear people on the other side of the lake. It is Ted Tonks, Tonks's father, Dirk Cresswell (from the Goblin Liaison office, who was supposed to be sent to Azkaban) and Dean Thomas. Of course Dean is their fellow Gryffindor.

The three of them are on the run, together with two goblins - Griphook and Gornuk. The Goblins tell how Ginny, Neville and Luna tried to get the sword of Godric Gryffindor from Snape's study. They failed, and Snape sent the sword to Gringotts, a place of safety.

However, the sword that Snape sent to Gringotts is a fake, wizard made. The sword of Godric Gryffindor is goblin made, and nobody knows where it is now. Ron argues violently with Harry and Hermione, while he is wearing the Horcrux locket, and leaves them.
