Students usually end up sleeping or half-asleep during his classes because he drones on and on and on and on about the History of Magic. The only time that he probably had his class whole attention was when Hermione asked him to discuss the Chamber of Secrets in the second book.

She is an extremely strict and fair teacher who gives all her students, regardless of their Houses, the same treatment. She was the one who discovered Harry's skill on a broom and asked Professor Dumbledore for special permission to allow Harry to play as a Seeker for Gryffindor's Quidditch team.

She's also the one who helped Hermione with her Time-Turner during her third year at Hogwarts.

Answer: Friend of James Potter

Professor Snape usually favors Slytherin students in his classes and seems to have formed an instant dislike towards Harry Potter and vice versa. He used to go to school with James Potter, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin but even then, he was also at odds with them. He and James are rivals, kind of like how Harry and Draco are.
