The manatee lives in the shallow water of the Everglades where they subsist on the sea grass that grows there. Despite their small eyes and lack of outer ears, manatees are thought to see and hear quite well.

This lovely bird is a roseate spoonbill. They are pink because of the shrimp and other crustaceans that make up their diet.
