Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This Death Eater got into a duel with Mad Eye during the first war and lost. Ask Mad Eye himself, he does have a tendency to boast about it every time this Death Eater's name is mentioned, although he admits, "Took a bit of me with him, though". Who is this Death Eater who lost to Mad Eye in his famous duel?

Answer: Rosier

Rosier was one of the Death Eaters Igor Karkaroff mentioned at his trial in "Goblet of Fire". After mentioning Dolohov, he was told it was worthless because Dolohov was already behind bars. When Karkaroff mentioned Rosier, he was told he was dead. Mad Eye went after him with his Aurors and they cornered him. Rosier resisted arrest and Mad Eye was forced to kill him. According to Mad Eye, Rosier took Mad Eye's nose and Wilkes got his eye.
2. This Death Eater busted out of jail twice and the Weasleys don't want him out because he murdered their uncles. He is Voldemort's lieutenant and helped him kill muggles, non supporters, and the Prewett Brothers. Flitwick defeated him for good at the Battle of Hogwarts. Who is he?

Answer: Dolohov

Dolohov is the most evil Death Eater to walk the earth. With Voldemort and Igor Karkaroff, he murdered muggles, non supporters, and the Prewett Brothers before he was caught. In 1995, during "Order of the Pheonix", he and the rest of Voldemort's lieutenants busted out of jail, but he was recaptured and sent back to Azkaban until '97 and the events of "Deathly Hallows", when he busted out again. During Bill and Fleur's wedding he crashed the party and tailed our heroes to a coffee shop on Oxford Street off of Tottenham Court Road, where he and Rowle impersonated construction workers. Harry saw through their disguise, and our heroes defeated them and wiped their memories. Voldemort was pissed when they reported to him, and he give them a double dose of the Torture Curse for disobeying his orders. During the Battle of Hogwarts Dolohov got into a duel with his foes, the Weasleys and Flitwick, where he lost and was killed.
3. This Death Eater is a mass murderer and loves firing off hexes and torturing people. She and her sister Narcissa are one of four Death Eaters who are female. She is famous for torturing the Longbottoms, and killing several Order members including her cousin Sirius, and the house elf Dobby. Her daughter Delphini is as crazy as her mother and both are insane murderers. Who is this evil witch?

Answer: Bellatrix

Bellatrix was the ringleader of the Longbottom attack. When she went to jail in "Goblet of Fire" she shouted, "Voldemort will rise again Crouch! Throw us into Azkaban; we will wait! He will rise again and will come for us, he will reward us beyond any of his other supporters! We alone were faithful! We alone tried to find him!" In 1996, during the events of "Order of the Phoenix", she busted out of jail along with her cronies. Bellatrix is a murderer; she killed her cousin and niece, wiped out the Marauders, and tortured the Longbottoms.

Her daughter Delphi is as crazy as her mother, and both are killers. I am glad Molly got rid of Bellatrix; The House of Black does not need the Death Eater stain that Bellatrix placed on it.
4. This Death Eater is a traitor; he sold out the Death Eaters for a pardon, by giving their names to the Council of Magical Law. Voldemort sent Dolohov to Scotland to hunt him down, and he was killed inside an abandoned farmhouse. Who is this traitor?

Answer: Igor Karkaroff

Karkaroff was a Death Eater mole. In "Goblet of Fire", he gave their names for a pardon, which he got. Karkaroff spent the next 16 years poisoning the minds of Durmstrang with Dark Magic. During the Triwizard Tournament, he went on the run when the Dark Mark appeared on his arm. Voldemort found out Karkaroff fled to Scotland, and sent Dolohov to kill him. Karkaroff was found in an abandoned farmhouse in Scotland, and he dueled the Death Eaters to the death.

They killed him, and Dolohov shot up the Dark Mark over his shack to mark his death.

This is why you don't sell out the Death Eaters.
5. This Death Eater use to be a member of the Marauders, but he sold them out and got their members killed. Voldemort always keeps a close eye on him, because he is always a coward. His alias is Scabbers the Rat. Who is he?

Answer: Peter Pettigrew

Wormtail is always the coward. He sold out the Marauders and the Order and got them killed. From "Sorcerer's Stone" to "Prisoner of Azkaban" he used the alias Scabbers, until he was cornered and forced to reveal his identity. Wormtail yielded and was about to be handed over to the authorities, but Remus bathed in the light of the Full Moon and became a werewolf and went on the rampage. Wormtail, who was shackled to Sirius and Remus, escaped his bounds by transforming into a rat, then ran to the fence and climbed over it, where he returned to human form and apparated to Albania.

In "Goblet of Fire" he captured Bertha and took her to Voldemort; both of them killed her and used her death to make Nagini a horcrux. Wormtail also revived Voldemort by offering his hand and finger so his master could be reborn. Voldemort always keeps a close eye on him, always treating him like a servant instead of a faithful Death Eater.

In "Deathly Hallows" Voldemort ordered him to kill Harry using the Silver Hand, but he hesitated and he was strangled to death. That's what he gets for selling out the Marauders.
6. This Death Eater is a werewolf, and the leader of the Snatcher Gang plus a werewolf cult. He loves killing kids; those who don't die automatically become werewolf cubs upon the first full moon and experience their first change. He was responsible for making Remus a werewolf and maiming Bill. Who is this evil werewolf?

Answer: Greyback

Greyback is the most savage werewolf in existence. According to Remus, his only mission is to bite as many people as possible, and give them lycanthropy, turning them into werewolves. Voldemort has hired him, and has agreed to pay him with more victims once he takes over Wizard World.

Although he does not wear a Death Eater brand he is still a Death Eater. His status is unknown after he killed Lavender by ripping her throat out, but he was defeated by Hermione, Ron and Neville.
7. This Death Eater was part of the mob who tortured the Longbottoms. Voldemort planted him as a spy at Hogwarts after he busted out of Azkaban. He impersonated Madeye for a year until Harry Potter unmasked him. Who is he?

Answer: Barty Crouch Jr.

Barty Crouch, Jr. was the most notorious of the Death Eaters. He was sent to jail the day Bellatrix got arrested. For 16 years his father tortured him with the Unforgivable Curses. One day, when he went to the World Cup, he stole Harry's wand and used it to cast the Dark Mark.

He then sought out his master, and the night Harry went back to school, he kidnapped Madeye and impersonated him for a year. After Harry narrowly escaped Voldemort, Jr. tried to finish the job. Harry stunned him and unmasked him, then waited for Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Snape to arrive to question him. Jr. then made a written statement under the influence of Truth Serum and told them everything. Fudge arrived an hour later, burned the statement with his wand, and killed Jr. by having a Dementor swallow his soul.
8. These Death Eaters were on top of the Astronomy Tower the night Dumbledore died, and served as Voldemort's deputies at Hogwarts when he took it over. Who is this Death Eater couple?

Answer: The Carrows

The Carrows are Voldemort's deputies. When they took over Hogwarts they tortured all the students. During the Battle of the Astronomy Tower, they were present when Dumbledore died. When Harry went looking for the Diadem, he and Luna stunned the Carrows and tied them up, and left them bound and gagged inside Ravenclaw until Flitwick arrived hours later to give the password so aurors could take them to jail.
9. This Death Eater discovered Voldemort's secret, and was killed hours after he joined. He was the one who wrote the threatening note inside the fake locket. Who is he?

Answer: Regulus

Regulus was murdered hours after he got in, when Voldemort found out he had discovered his secret. In "Deathly Hallows", Voldemort hired Kreacher to test the Horcrux Cave, but Kreacher escaped and told Regulus. Regulus then made the switch and Voldemort killed him by unleashing his Inferi on him.

In "Half Blood Prince", before he died Regulus left a note behind: "To Voldemort, I know I will be dead long before you read this but I want you to know that it was I who discovered your secret. I have stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can. I face death in the hope that when you meet your match you will be mortal once more." R.A.B. Years later Harry found the note, and he and Ron destroyed the Locket Horcrux.
10. This Death Eater caused the 1992 "Chamber of Secrets Incident" and because of it Voldemort demoted him to Soldier instead of a Death Eater Captain. After the Battle of the Department of Mysteries he was incarcerated and Voldemort left him in Azkaban for a year as punishment for disobeying him. Who is he?

Answer: Lucius Malfoy

Lucius Malfoy was the Chancellor of Education for Hogwarts. He used this title to bribe The Board of Governors to do his bidding. In 1992 he caused the "Chamber of Secrets Incident" when he planted the Diary Horcrux on Harry's girlfriend Ginny. Harry killed the Basilisk and sealed the Chamber for good; plus he destroyed the Diary Horcrux, foiling Lucius' and Voldemort's plans.

In "Goblet of Fire" Voldemort was so furious when Lucius told him the Diary was destroyed on the day he was resurrected that he demoted Lucius to Lieutenant. Lucius tried to redeem himself during The Death Eater Riots at the World Cup in "Goblet of Fire", but he fled when Barty Crouch, Jr. shot up the Mark.

A year later, in "Order of the Phoenix", he took part in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries but he got himself incarcerated. Voldemort kept him in jail as punishment for disobeying him and he was demoted to Soldier. Voldemort did let him out in "Deathly Hallows", but took away his wand to punish him more. Voldemort then turned Malfoy Manor into Death Eater Headquarters. During the Skirmish of Malfoy Manor Harry escaped and Voldemort tortured him.

He took part in The Battle of Hogwarts, but the Malfoys defected and left Voldemort's service after the battle.
