Answer: Beaman

Skiffy Beaman was a young man who lived with his father and his mother died from an illness. After the death of little Skiffy's mother, Skiffy's father did nothing at all except for drinking beer and sleeping on a couch.
2. What was the name of the boat that sunk and Skiffy had to bring it back to the surface?

Answer: Mary Rose

Mary Rose belonged to Skiffy's father and the boat was in horrible condition. Every now and then, the boat would start to sink because of how bad the condition was. So, Skiffy had to get up and bring the boat back up to the surface.
3. What was the name of the mean little rich kid who liked to taunt Skiffy?

Answer: Tyler Croft

Tyler Croft was a little rich kid who was very cruel, especially to Skiffy. When Skiffy decided to raise money by catching lobsters and crabs so he could fix the Mary Rose, Tyler would go out at night and he would release all of the lobsters and crabs that Skiffy caught.

Answer: Samuel

Skiffy and his father actually both had the first name of Samuel. People just called them Skiffy instead of their real first names.

After being out at sea for hours and hours, a giant tuna appeared and it was probably the biggest tuna anyone would ever see. Skiffy used the harpoon to catch the beast and when he did, he almost lost his life when the tuna threw him out of the boat and into the water.

Answer: Mr. Woodwell

Mr. Woodwell was a kind old man who helped Skiffy fix the Mary Rose so it would no longer sink. Before Skiffy went out to sea, he went to Mr. Woodwell's house and he stole his harpoon because Skiffy knew that he would need something to catch a tuna with.

Answer: Never give up

The other two rules that Skiffy's mother had him obey were think smart and speak true.

Answer: Yes

Skiffy brought the giant tuna home and when he did he was so exhausted and so beat up that he had to be taken to the hospital. Later on, he was in the newspaper and when the tuna was sold, Skiffy and his father made a lot of money and it helped turn their lives around.
