Answer: Adam and Eve

When Adam and Eve ate the fruit God had said not to, they realized that they had no clothes on and were ashamed. They scrambled to make clothes out of fig leaves and hid from God because they knew they were in trouble for disobeying Him. God found them in the garden and was very sad. He made clothes for them out of animal skins and sent them away because they had sinned.

Answer: Joseph

Joseph was given a coat of many colors by his dad because he was his dad's favorite son. This made his brothers jealous and they tried to kill him. They ripped up Joseph's coat and told his dad that Joseph had been killed. God worked it all out though and Joseph was alive and well in Egypt. He and his dad both cried for joy when they saw each other again years later.

In the desert there were no shopping malls and it would have been hard for people to find new clothes. However, God kept their clothes from wearing out for forty years after they left Egypt! In Deuteronomy 8:4 (NIV) Moses told the Israelites, "Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years." God takes care of His people!

Aaron was the first high priest. God told Moses to make Aaron and his sons special clothes because he wanted them to represent Him to the people and be holy, or separate from others. He made them white linen robes and they were also not allowed to wear anything that made them sweat. The priests also had to be very clean when they represented God to the people.

Elisha was very sad when Elijah was leaving to be with God. He asked Elijah to leave him a double portion of his spirit. Elijah told Elisha if he saw him when God took him away he could have it. Elisha stayed with Elijah and when God carried Elijah away in a chariot of fire, he looked up to heaven and Elijah had thrown his mantle (or robe) to him. Elisha kept the mantle and God allowed him to do twice as many miracles as Elijah had done.

The king threw them into the fiery furnace, seven times hotter than it normally was. It was so hot it killed the kings guards that threw them in. However when the king looked up and saw a fourth man in the fire that looked like the Son of God, he told them to come out. Their clothes were not burned and the king was amazed because they didn't even smell like smoke!

Swaddling clothes were strips of cloth used to wrap babies in during the time Jesus was born. When Jesus was born, there was no place for him or his family to stay except a stable, a type of barn. The shepherds found him in a manger, a place where the barn animals ate hay and food from. However it was a special night, because Jesus came and brought peace and goodwill to all men.

John the Baptist lived in the desert and wore a robe made out of camel's hair. He preached to people about the coming Messiah and baptized them in the river for repentance. When John baptized Jesus, a voice came from heaven saying "This is my son in whom I am well pleased". God let John know that Jesus was the Messiah he had been waiting for.
