When Harry comes into Ollivander's to buy his wand, Mr. Ollivander tells Harry that it seems like just the other day that Harry's mother was in buying her first wand.

Hermione loses this wand to the snatchers when she, Harry, and Ron are captured after Harry says Voldermort's name aloud. Hermione is forced to use Bellatrix's wand, but does not like the way that it feels. Harry knows that it is because Hermione didn't win the wand from Bellatrix, and therefore never won the wand's allegiance.

Answer: Walnut and Dragon Heartstring, 12 3/4", unyielding

This wand was stolen by Harry at Malfoy Manor. Hermione uses the wand when the trio, with the help of Griphook, break into Gringotts. The problem is that the goblins have been alerted to the fact that Bellatrix's wand has been stolen. Bellatrix is ultimately killed in the battle of Hogwarts by Molly Weasley. Nothing less than she deserved.

Hagrid accompanies Harry to Ollivander's shop to purchase Harry's wand. Mr. Ollivander remembers ever wand he has ever sold and describes Hagrid's wand. Hagrid had his wand snapped in half when he was expelled, but has the pieces hidden in his flowery pink umbrella.

Neville initially uses his father's wand. This wand gets broken in the fight at the ministry. His grandmother buys him a new wand. He tells Harry that it is probably one of the last that Ollivander sold before disappearing.

Harry steals this wand from Draco at Malfoy Manor, although he had won its allegiance earlier when he disarmed Draco at the end of book 6. This becomes pivotal in the plot, because by winning this wand, Harry wins the allegiance of the elder wand.

Mr. Ollivander tells Harry, Ron, and Hermione that he was forced to make this wand for Peter Pettigrew shortly after his capture. Ron took this wand from Pettigrew when Pettigrew was sent to the cellar at Malfoy Manor to check on the prisoners. Mr. Ollivander tells Ron that this wand should work well for him.

Answer: Mahogany, 11", pliable, excellent for transfiguration

It would make sense that James' wand would be excellent for transfiguration since he was able to accomplish becoming an animagus.

Answer: Yew and Phoenix Feather, 13 1/2"

Voldermort is perfectly happy with this wand until he learns of the existence of the twin cores. Ollivander tells him that all he has to do is borrow another wizard's wand, but the borrowed wand fares no better. That is when Voldemort becomes obsessed with finding the elder wand.

Answer: Cherry and Unicorn Hair 8 3/4"

When Delores Umbridge is questioning Mary Cattermole she asks her if she recognizes the description of the wand. Mrs. Cattermole tells her that she bought that wand when she was eleven years old; she says that wand "chose her". Umbridge tells her that wands only choose witches and wizards and she is not a witch because she is muggle born. Ron, Harry, and Hermione help Mary Cattermole and countless other muggleborns escape from the Ministry of Magic.

Viktor Krum is the Bulgarian seeker that also attends Durmstrang and comes to Hogwarts to participate in the Triwizard tournament. When Ollivander examines Krum's wand prior to the first task it was discovered to be a Gregorovich creation, which Krum considers to be superior to an Ollivander creation.

Answer: Willow and Unicorn Hair, 14"

When Ron first starts at Hogwarts he is using his brother Charlie's old wand. When Harry and Ron crash the flying car into the whomping willow, Ron's wand is damaged beyond repair. Ron's dad wins 700 galleons which they spend most of on a trip to Egypt, but they do have enough money left to buy Ron a new wand.

Answer: Rosewood with a Veela Hair Core 9 1/2"

Fleur says that the the hair was from the head of her grandmother. Harry makes a mental note to tell Ron that Fleur is part Veela. He then remembers that he and Ron are not speaking to one another.

Cedric was the Hufflepuff student chosen as the Hogwarts champion in the Triwizard Tournament. It was his misfortune that he and Harry both took the champions cup at the same time and were transported by portkey to the graveyard at Little Hangleton. Cedric was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Lord Voldemort wanted no witnesses.

At least Harry did survive and was able to bring Cedric's body back to his parents.

Answer: Holly and Phoenix Feather, 11", nice & supple

This wand serves Harry quite well. When he and Voldemort cross paths in the graveyard at Little Hangleton something quite extraordinary happens. Dumbledore explains that the wands are brothers due to the existence of the twin cores. Hermione breaks Harry's Phoenix Feather wand when they are fleeing from Voldermort at Godric's Hollow. Harry eventually ends up with the elder wand which allows him to repair his Holly and Phoenix Feather wand.
