According to the US 1977 version of "The Magician's Nephew," the Professor (Digory) was one of the first Kings, but only after the cab driver became the king first. Aslan gave the Professor, then known as Digory, an apple to bring home to his mother, who was sick.

She ate the apple and he planted the seed from that apple. The seeds took root and grew into the most beautiful tree ever to be seen in England. Shortly after the tree grew tall and beautiful, Digory was whisked away to Narnia where he served as King. Years later, when the tree became too old and sickly, the Professor had it removed, and made it into a wardrobe.

This is how the children were able to travel to Narnia. It seems the tree never forgot its original home!

Attention quiz players: Please note that there are numerous versions of C.S Lewis' books, both British and American.

The American versions differ dramatically compared to the British versions, and also please note that every several years in America different versions are published, which differ from the previous American publications. Please be advised that the quiz you have just taken is based solely upon the 1977 American version.
