Tommy Oliver (played by Jason David Frank) joined the team during an arc where he was first recruited to be an evil Ranger with the sixth power coin. After the evil spell was broken he joined the team as the Green Ranger.

Kimberly was a world class gymnast. When her character left the show in the third season it was written that she left to compete in international gymnastics competitions.

Many scenes in the show had her doing gymnastics when she wasn't in uniform as a Ranger.

Billy was extremely smart. He built the teleporters used by the team, and their communicators. There was an entire episode based around him being upset that he earned a "B" on a paper at high school.
