Question 1 of 10
1. "Don't put your wand there, boy! What if it ignited? Better wizards than you have lost buttocks, you know!" Mad Eye Moody said this to Harry upon seeing Harry put his wand in his pack pocket while in the Dursley's house. After packing his belongings to leave, who says to him, "Wand still in your jeans? Both buttocks still on?"? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. "Simply fabulous," Mr. Weasley whispered, indicating the automatic ticket machines. "Wonderfully ingenious."
"They're out of order," said Harry, pointing at the sign.
"Yes, but even so..." he said, beaming fondly at them.
This is just one of the funny quotes describing Mr. Weasley's immense fondness for what?
Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. "Mrs. Weasley let out a shriek just like Hermione's. 'I don't believe it! How wonderful!...That's everyone in the family!'
'What are Fred and I, next door neighbors?'"
Why was Mrs. Weasley so excited?
Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. During the party thrown in Ron and Hermione's honor, we learn that at least two of the members of the Order of Phoenix were never named Prefects. Who had this to say about why they didn't make prefect?:
"I was never a prefect myself. My Head of House said I lacked certain necessary qualities."
"Like what?" Ginny asked.
"Like the ability to behave myself."
Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Doris Umbridge is known for interrupting people with her annoying little fake cough "Hem, Hem"?

Question 6 of 10
6. Though they have always been friends with Harry, twins Fred and George Weasley now feel indebted to him because Harry gave them his Triwizard Tournament winnings. When a fellow student starts being rude to Harry, Fred and George are quick to jump to his defense:
"Would you like us to clean out your ears for you?" inquired George, pulling a long and lethal-looking metal instrument from inside one of his Zonko's bags.
"Or any part of your body, really, we're not fussy where we stick this," said Fred.
Who were Fred and George threatening?
Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. Besides Fred and George, I think Luna Lovegood may be one of the funniest characters in the Harry Potter series. While sitting with Harry and Neville in a compartment on the Hogwarts Express, Luna has a suggestion as to why Harry seems a little preoccupied:
"(*BLANK*) got you?" she asked sympathetically.
"I-what?" Harry said, confused.
"A (*BLANK*)...they're invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy. I thought I felt one zooming around in here." She flapped her hands at the air, as though beating off large invisible moths.
What "creature" is Luna referring to? Fill in the (*BLANK*)
Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Harry is often told how much like his father he is. In the following conversation, their similarities once again show themselves:
"But you are normal!" Harry said fiercely. "You've just got a - a problem-"
He burst out laughing. "Sometimes you remind me a lot of James. He called it my 'furry little problem' in company. Many people were under the impression that I owned a badly behaved rabbit."
True or False. This conversation was between Harry and Lupin.

Question 9 of 10
9. Throughout the series, Harry takes trips through Dumbledore's pensieve...though not always into Dumbledore's thoughts. While waiting for Professor Snape in his office, Harry takes a little jaunt through one of Snape's childhood memories. After seeing James finish torturing Snape in front of his classmates, Lily is upset:
"Leave him alone!" Lily repeated. "What's he done to you?"
"Well," he (James) said, appearing to deliberate the point, "it's more the fact that he exists, if you know what I mean..."
"You make me sick!" Lily said.
"What is it with her?" asked James.
"Reading between the lines, I'd say she thinks you're a bit conceited, mate."
What friend of James' uses his dry sense of humor to inform James of something everyone else already knew?
Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. After Ron is accidentally poisoned by Professor Slughorn's mead, Harry is forced to bring in a substitution for the Keeper position on the Gryffindor quidditch team. Grudgingly, he chooses Cormac McLaggen. Unfortunately, Harry's worst fears are confirmed after McLaggen knocks him unconscious after hitting him in the head with a bludger during a match...using one of the beaters' bats. Needless to say, Harry is not amused:
"I'm keeping you in overnight. You shouldn't over-exert yourself for a few hours."
"I don't want to stay overnight," said Harry angrily, sitting up and throwing pack his covers. "I want to find McLaggen and kill him."
"I'm afraid that would come under the heading of 'overexertion'."
To whom was Harry talking?
Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

Answer: Nymphadora "Tonks"

All of these characters are members of the Advance Guard from the Order of Phoenix who come to "rescue" Harry from the Dursley's. This scene is where we are first introduced to the Auror Nymphadora Tonks, or "Tonks". Tonks is a metamorphmagus, meaning she can change her appearance at will.

She mentioned that this trait helped her pass the Concealment and Disguise portion of her Auror test...this was good because she is "dead clumsy" and almost failed her Stealth and Tracking portion!
2. "Simply fabulous," Mr. Weasley whispered, indicating the automatic ticket machines. "Wonderfully ingenious." "They're out of order," said Harry, pointing at the sign. "Yes, but even so..." he said, beaming fondly at them. This is just one of the funny quotes describing Mr. Weasley's immense fondness for what?

Answer: Muggles

Mr. Weasley is "obsessed" with all things Muggle! Along with collecting batteries and plugs, he has pictures of muggle cars, a dismantled car engine, two illustrations of postboxes (apparently cut from a children's book), and a diagram showing how to wire a plug on his office wall at the Ministry of Magic.
3. "Mrs. Weasley let out a shriek just like Hermione's. 'I don't believe it! How wonderful!...That's everyone in the family!' 'What are Fred and I, next door neighbors?'" Why was Mrs. Weasley so excited?

Answer: Ron had just been named a Prefect

Although Harry expected it to be him, Ron was the Gryffindor named Prefect in their fifth year. Harry later finds out that Dumbledore didn't pick him because he thought that Harry had enough to deal with without the pressure of being a Prefect. Though it's never mentioned, we must assume from this quote that Charlie Weasley was a Prefect as well...we know that both Bill and Percy were Prefects, who both went on to become Head Boy.
4. During the party thrown in Ron and Hermione's honor, we learn that at least two of the members of the Order of Phoenix were never named Prefects. Who had this to say about why they didn't make prefect?: "I was never a prefect myself. My Head of House said I lacked certain necessary qualities." "Like what?" Ginny asked. "Like the ability to behave myself."

Answer: Tonks

Lupin was actually a Prefect (letting us know that Sirius was not). He thought that maybe Dumbledore had given him the honor in hopes that he would be able to control his trouble-making best friends (James and Sirius), though, as he put it, "I need scarcely say that I failed dismally."
5. Doris Umbridge is known for interrupting people with her annoying little fake cough "Hem, Hem"?

Answer: False

Professor DOLORES (not Doris) Umbridge was placed at Hogwarts by the Ministry. Once there, she succeeded in being appointed Hogwarts' first ever High Inquisitor, as well as replacing Dumbledore as Headmistress (though only for a short time). With the death of Dumbledore, that position is once again vacant...we'll have to wait until book seven to see if Acting Headmistress, Professor McGonagall, becomes the permanent replacement.
6. Though they have always been friends with Harry, twins Fred and George Weasley now feel indebted to him because Harry gave them his Triwizard Tournament winnings. When a fellow student starts being rude to Harry, Fred and George are quick to jump to his defense: "Would you like us to clean out your ears for you?" inquired George, pulling a long and lethal-looking metal instrument from inside one of his Zonko's bags. "Or any part of your body, really, we're not fussy where we stick this," said Fred. Who were Fred and George threatening?

Answer: Zacharias Smith

This took place at the Hog's Head pub in Hogsmeade. Hermione had invited anyone who was interested in learning practical Defense Against the Arts to attend a meeting. Later, this group would name themselves Dumbledore's Army, or the DA for short...though none of the Gryffindor's ever really like Zacharias!
7. Besides Fred and George, I think Luna Lovegood may be one of the funniest characters in the Harry Potter series. While sitting with Harry and Neville in a compartment on the Hogwarts Express, Luna has a suggestion as to why Harry seems a little preoccupied: "(*BLANK*) got you?" she asked sympathetically.

Answer: A wrackspurt

Like the wrackspurt, the aquavirious maggot, the blibbering humdinger, and the crumple-horned snorkack are "creatures" that Luna and her father believe are real...however, the wrackspurt is the one that supposedly makes your brain fuzzy.
8. Harry is often told how much like his father he is. In the following conversation, their similarities once again show themselves: "But you are normal!" Harry said fiercely. "You've just got a - a problem-" He burst out laughing. "Sometimes you remind me a lot of James. He called it my 'furry little problem' in company. Many people were under the impression that I owned a badly behaved rabbit." True or False. This conversation was between Harry and Lupin.

Answer: True

Now one of Harry's only remaining parental figures, Lupin seems to have developed a kind ironic dry humor towards his "condition". Now that Bill Weasley may be part-werewolf, hopefully Lupin can pass this humor on to him.
9. Throughout the series, Harry takes trips through Dumbledore's pensieve...though not always into Dumbledore's thoughts. While waiting for Professor Snape in his office, Harry takes a little jaunt through one of Snape's childhood memories. After seeing James finish torturing Snape in front of his classmates, Lily is upset: "Leave him alone!" Lily repeated. "What's he done to you?" "Well," he (James) said, appearing to deliberate the point, "it's more the fact that he exists, if you know what I mean..." "You make me sick!" Lily said. "What is it with her?" asked James. "Reading between the lines, I'd say she thinks you're a bit conceited, mate." What friend of James' uses his dry sense of humor to inform James of something everyone else already knew?

Answer: Sirius

This trip into the pensieve is the most troubling for Harry. Watching his father and Sirius torturing Snape for no reason really bothers him, as does the fact that Lily seemed to hate James. This left Harry wondering whether James might have forced Lily into marrying him.

However, after a "fireside chat" with Sirius and Lupin, Harry realizes that his father finally outgrew his childish behavior, and in doing so, won over Lily's heart.
Needless to say, Harry is not amused: "I'm keeping you in overnight. You shouldn't over-exert yourself for a few hours." "I don't want to stay overnight," said Harry angrily, sitting up and throwing pack his covers. "I want to find McLaggen and kill him." "I'm afraid that would come under the heading of 'overexertion'." To whom was Harry talking?

Answer: Madam Pomfrey

Madam Pomfrey, the school nurse, sure seems to see a lot of Harry! Then again, by attending Hogwarts, you should expect to experience quite a few problems that only she can fix...especially if, like Harry, you're destined!
