Katie was in the year above Harry. The necklace was given to her while she was under the Imperius curse cast by Madame Rosmerta, who was also under the Imperius curse that Draco Malfoy cast. As a result she spent six months in St Mungo's. She took part in the Second Wizarding War and survived, although her life afterwards is unknown.

Answer: Florean Fortescue

Fortescue used to give Harry free ice cream sundaes and help him with his homework in the Prisoner of Azkaban. Voldemort kidnapped him to find information on the Elder Wand and the lost Diadem, but later killed him when he refused to give anything up. J.K Rowling revealed on the website Pottermore that she intended him to have a larger role and explain his disappearance, but it was cut and she regrets killing the character off.

Answer: Gabrielle Delacour

Gabrielle was her sister Fleur's hostage in the Second Task, only to be rescued by Harry when Fleur had to drop out. From her age in the films, it is believed that Beauxbatons has students of a much younger age at their school. She, like her sister, is quarter Veela so therefore must be very pretty. Her life afterwards is unknown.

Answer: Phineas Nigellus Black

Phineas Nigellus was born in 1847. He was, of course, in Slytherin house and hated Muggleborns, or Mudbloods as he called them. He was one of the least-popular Headmasters of Hogwarts. There are two paintings of him and he frequently travels between them, often to carry messages. He was married to Ursula Flint and had five children. He died in 1925 aged 78.

Answer: Charity Burbage

Charity Burbage taught Muggle Studies from 1993 until her death in 1997. While Burbage was teaching, Muggle Studies was an option you could take in Third Year but when she died, her role was taken over by Alecto Carrow, who made it a compulsory subject and taught about how filthy Muggles were. Her age at the time of her death is unknown.

Answer: Roger Davies

In 'The Order of the Phoenix', Davies also asked Cho Chang out but she refused due to her relationship with Harry. He was in Madame Puddifoot's with his girlfriend at the same time as Cho and Harry and she tried to use him to make Harry jealous. It is not known what happens to him after this.

Answer: Mary Cattermole

Mary was interrogated like many other Muggleborns on the premise that they could not actually be wizards or witches so must have stolen their wands from a 'real' witch or wizard. She would have been imprisoned in Azkaban if it weren't for Harry and Hermione, disguised as Ministry workers. Ron was disguised as her husband, Reg Cattermole.

It is not known whether the Cattermole family escaped the country, as they were advised to do by Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Answer: Percival Dumbledore

Percival Dumbledore was the father of Albus Dumbledore. It was true that he attacked three Muggle children, perhaps killing them or using the Cruciatus curse on them, but not for the reason many people assumed, which was blood purity. The real reason is that they had assaulted his daughter Ariana and left her traumatized and unable to control her magical powers. This made Percival so angry that he attacked them. He never admitted to the real reason for his actions as Ariana would have been locked up in St Mungo's for the rest of her life.

In 'The Deathly Hallows', Aberforth Dumbledore tells this to Harry, Ron and Hermione.

Answer: Helga Hufflepuff

Helga Hufflepuff was, naturally, the founder of Hufflepuff House, which takes in loyal and hard-working students, as well as students who didn't fit into the other Houses. She taught all her students equally and treated them fairly. She owned a small golden cup, which was passed down her family line until Hepzibah Smith. Smith also owned the locket of Salazar Slytherin. She became friends with a young man named Tom Riddle who worked at Borgin and Burkes. She showed him her two prized possessions, the cup and the locket, and was found dead two days later. Hufflepuff's cup became one of Tom Riddle's horcruxes.

Answer: Ignotus Peverell

Ignotus is a distant ancestor of Harry's, leaving Harry the rightful owner of the cloak. Antioch was the owner of the Elder Wand, while Cadmus owned the Resurrection Stone. It is believed that they created the Deathly Hallows, instead of being given them by Death, as the story says. Ignotus was born in 1214 and lived to the age of 76, dying in the year 1291. He is buried in Godric's Hollow, his birthplace.
