Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Animal: A snapper turtle can bite harder than a African Lion. (watch your fingers when feeding)

Answer: True

The bite force of a snapper turtle is more than 1000 pounds whereas the king of the animals bites a little under 700 pounds.
2. Sci/Tech: A human has more DNA material than a green pea.

Answer: False

Actually the pea has over than 5 times more DNA material than a human. An onion has even 12 times more DNA. And then to think we humans only use 5% of the storage capacity of our DNA.
3. Sport: The Dutch National football team has never won the World Championship before 2006.

Answer: True

They were defeated in the finals by Argentina in 1978 and by Germany 1974. The defeat by the German team still is the biggest Dutch complex in sports.
In 1988 they did manage to win the European championship (and getting their revenge on Germany in the process).
4. Television: Billy Crystal's earliest prominent role on television was as a gay character. (A soapy part)

Answer: True

He played Jodie Dallas on the sitcom "Soap", one of the first portrayed gay man on American television. It also happens to be my favourite show from the old days.
5. Brain Twister: It is possible to put a rectangular piece of paper measuring exactly 0.1 yard by 5.5 cm through a perfect round hole with a radius of 1 inch considering the hole is through a wooden board which is 0.2 indian moot thick. (Twist not only your brain)

Answer: True

Sure you can. Just roll up the piece of paper and slide it through the round hole.
By the way; 1 Indian moot = 7.62cm = 3 US inch = 0.083333 yard
6. Movie: The beautiful Olivia Newton John played the part of Sandy Olsson in "Grease II".

Answer: False

Michelle Pfeiffer played the leading role in "Grease II" as Stephanie Zinone. Sandy Olsson, played by Olivia, only appeared in "Grease 1".
7. For Children: A snail can meow like a cat. (Think under water)

Answer: True

Cartoon character SpongeBob has a pet called Gary. It is a snail and its meows are understood by SpongeBob. Gary and SpongeBob live together in a pineapple under the sea.
8. Literature: In the Stephen King novel "IT", the Clown Pennywise turns out to be human. (Spoiler in the answer)

Answer: False

"IT" is a creature made of an orange light. Looking at this light drives you insane and so it does to the characters of my favorite book from Mr. King. IT's natural form on earth is that of a five meter high spider. IT can also look like a human because it's favorite disguise is that of a grinning clown called Pennywise. Why is it that we have a certain fear for clowns?
9. History: Peter Stuyvesant, the founder of New York which was in that time known as New Amsterdam, sold Manhattan for beads.

Answer: False

It is said Peter Stuyvesant bought Manhattan with beads from the Indians but there is no historical proof for that.
He certainly did not SELL it for beads because England conquered New Amsterdam in 1664 and renamed it New York. How rude!
10. Geography: The town Tarifa is the most southern town of Spain.

Answer: False

The tiny fishing town of La Restinga is the most southern point of the Canaries (island Hierro), and hence Spain.
