Answer: Queen Victoria

One of her most famous statements, 'We are not amused.'
16. In cricket, if all players make twenty runs, what is the highest score the team can make?

Answer: Impossible to tell

It is impossible to tell as there may be many or no 'extras'. An extra is any run not scored directly by a batter. These can include 'no-balls' (where the bowler steps over the mark before releasing the ball), 'wides' (a ball too wide to be hit), 'byes' (where a batter doesn't hit the ball but still runs) and 'leg byes' (same as byes but the ball comes off the body, usually the legs).
17. According to legend, what did the Greek goddess Nike represent?

Answer: Victory

18. What does the "D" in D-Day stand for?

It's just a Military code meaning day. Just as H-Hour means the hour at which the operation will take place, the D means the day the operation takes place.
19. Who was the second Prime Minister of Australia?

Answer: Alfred Deakin

Barton was the first PM while Menzies was the longest serving. Ned Kelly, for what it's worth, could have been a politician as he was about as honest as most. Kelly was Australia's best known and most notorious bushranger.
20. Which two musical rockers were the organisers of the 'Live Aid' concerts in 1985?

Answer: Bob Geldof / Midge Ure

What ever happened to Midge? He was a member of Ultravox and it seems Sir Bob took over and took all the accolades.

Answer: Grover Cleveland

Grover Cleveland (1885-1889 and 1893-1897). All others had consecutive terms.

'Annie Hall' was named Best Picture in 1977 pipping 'Star Wars', 'The Goodbye Girl' and 'Julia' for top honours. Voight and Fonda won the awards for 1978 (presented in 1979).
23. Two percent of the earth's living area is taken up by large cities. What percentage of people live in this small area?

Answer: 50

Strange but true this is mainly due for two reasons. The first being that major cities are usually the centre of trade, therefore more populous and the second being most of the older cities built on the coast were generally reliant on shipping, hence a larger population gathered in these cities.
24. Where was Christopher Columbus born?

Answer: Genoa

Some people thought he was Spanish. He actually went to Spain as he could not convince the King of Portugal to finance his trips.
25. Commonly known as the 100 Years War, how long did it historically last for?

Answer: 116

It lasted from 1337-1453, and was fought between France and England - the last swansong of the Norman roots of the British monarchy and aristocracy.
