Merida is on the Yucatan Peninsula (when you look at a map, the Yucatan is the part of Mexico closest to Miami). It's the 12th most populated area in Mexico. The Yucatan is probably best known for Cancun and Cozumel, great vacation and scuba diving spots.

Racine is a city in Wisconsin. It's definitely not the place to go for fun in the sun in the winter time.
Racine is on the banks of Lake Michigan which would be great fun in the summer. There are several buildings to visit that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places including Wind Point Lighthouse and a home built by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Ely is a town in England surrounded by the Isle of Ely. A trip to jolly old England should improve my mood.
Some say 'Ely' is a derivation of eels, which were found in the waters surrounding the area and eaten. I'm on that strict 'no eels' diet, I better find someplace else to go.

Perpignan is the capital of Pyrenees-Orientales, France, a completely different vacation spot - maybe next year!
I look forward to seeing the Palace of the Kings of Majorca and the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. It took from 1324 to 1509 to finish the church. Hopefully, it will still be there when I visit.

Barrie is a city in Canada, not something to wear on your finger in a ring.
Barrie is in Ontario and located on the banks of Kempenfelt Bay. Since Barrie averages 95 inches of snow in the winter, it's definitely not the place to be if you want to wear a bathing suit. I'll save Barrie for a summer trip.

Ayr is a city in Scotland. Maybe that is next year's vacation trip.
Because Ayr is by the sea and in a low lying area, there is rarely any mist or fog which is always a plus when sightseeing. But the temperature rarely gets above 60°F.

Silvis is a city in Illinois. I'm not planning to go there any time in the future.
Silvis is a relatively small town (fewer than 7500 residents) but is home to 'Hero Street'. Hero Street got its name when eight soldiers that lived on that street were all killed in World War II. There are approximately 25 homes on the street but over 100 residents from there have gone into the military since WW II.

Pierre is the capital of South Dakota. I may not see green grass there until next spring.
Montpelier, Vermont is the least populated capital city, Pierre is number two on that list. Now, here's the thing, for five months out of the year, there is a chance South Dakota may set record low temps (below 0°F). I think I'll wait until summer to visit Pierre. Apparently they have one of the largest man made lakes and a pretty good fishin' hole.

Natal is the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, a state in Brazil. Brazil produces most of the oranges grown in the world.
Natal means Christmas in Portuguese and the city was founded on Christmas Day in 1599. I've always wanted to go to Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro but Natal has an off season carnival of its own. There is crystalline sea water for diving, one of Brazil's longest bridges and a medieval fortress. I might have to re-think Rio.

Harare is the capital city of Zimbabwe. Maybe I should stop with the crafts and start planning my next vacation.
Harare is the largest city in Zimbabwe with close to 3,000,000 people in the metro area. It looks very cosmopolitan and the temperature, not too hot, not too cold....of course, there is that 'rainy season'. Maybe I'll just stay a little closer to home.
