Answer: Ringo

2. If you pass Go in the U.S. version of a certain game, what do you get?

3. An important trade route since ancient times, this mountain pass separates two Asian countries and has long been involved in military turmoil. Which pass is it?

Answer: Khyber

The Khyber Pass is on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was part of the 4,000 mi./6,400 km. Silk Road, which stretched from eastern China to the Mediterranean Sea. Use of the pass has become unsafe due to wars in the area.
4. Shortly after the outbreak of World War II, an American songwriter composed a patriotic song advising servicemen to "Praise the Lord and Pass ___" what?

Answer: the Ammunition

The song was written by Frank Loesser in 1942, in response to the attack on Pearl Harbor. In the song, a chaplain says a prayer for some sailors shooting at enemy planes, then mans a gun himself and says "pass the ammunition".
5. Tough guy actor Charles Bronson starred in a 1975 movie about the American Old West. Which movie could it be?

Answer: Breakheart Pass

"Breakheart Pass" was about a supposed diphtheria epidemic at Fort Humboldt in the Rocky Mountains. There was no epidemic; it was a conspiracy, but luckily a federal undercover agent (Charles Bronson) happened to be on the train.
6. It's game show time! Which show involved teams of celebrities and regular contestants trying to guess a secret word?

Answer: Password

"Password" ran from 1962 to 1975 on American TV networks CBS and then ABC. A team member was given the password and then had to convey it to the other team member by clues. Play alternated between two teams.
7. In American football, a desperation attempt at a long forward pass has been given a special name, due largely to its use by the University of Notre Dame teams. What is that type of pass called?

Answer: Hail Mary

The long yardage pass, named after a Catholic prayer, was often used in the closing moments of a football game, a final attempt to produce a score. Notre Dame and other Catholic colleges used the term mostly among themselves until professional quarterback Roger Staubach (a Catholic) said it regarding his game-winning touchdown pass to receiver Drew Pearson in a 1975 game.

It has since become a regular football term.
8. "This too shall pass" is a familiar proverb which many people assume came from the Bible. Actually, it likely originated with poets from a certain country; will the picture help you guess which one?

Answer: Persia

Persian Sufi poets are given credit as the probable originators of the phrase. It seems to date back to the 11th century, reminding people that all things, good or bad, are temporary.
9. As America moved West in the 19th century, an incidence of cannibalism became forever attached to a mountain pass in California. Can you deduce its name from this photograph?

Answer: Donner Pass

The answer is Donner Pass. One of Santa's reindeer is named Donner, remember? First traveled by settlers in 1844, the mountain pass allows passage over the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, coming from Nevada. Its name came from the Donner Party, a group of more than 80 pioneers who became trapped there during the winter of 1846-47.

Many died and some of the group resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Only 43 or 45 people survived the winter.
10. What are we heading for in this picture?

Answer: underpass

The picture shows an underpass. If we were on the top road we would be on an overpass. In Great Britain, an overpass is often called a flyover.
