Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What kind of list might a person put together to decide what things to complete before they died?

Answer: A bucket list

The name of the bucket list is derived from the euphemism for death, where people are said to have "kicked the bucket". That phrase has an uncertain origin itself, but may be traced all the way back to biblical times where the figurative use of 'bucket' is to fight against something (in this case, existence itself).

Other sources trace the origin to around the 14th century with Scandinavian literature relating buckets to 'bending at the knees'. Others cite the French 'buquet' relating to the balance (or lack thereof) of animals being prepared for slaughter.
2. What surname is shared by actor Richard and TV producer LeVar?

Answer: Burton

Richard Burton (1925-1984), while possibly most famous for his two marriages to Elizabeth Taylor, was an accomplished actor in his own right. Welsh by birth, Burton had a career across a large number of stage and film productions, earning him 7 Academy Award nominations. LeVar Burton began his acting career in 1976, appearing in a large number of TV shows and films, before moving into producing and directing in the 1990s.
