Saint George was a Christian martyr who lived in what is now Turkey. The legend goes that he killed a dragon to whom a king's daughter was to be sacrificed.
St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and St. David is the patron saint of Wales.

Legend has it that Cadmus slew a dragon and then planted its teeth. An armed warrior sprung up from the place where each tooth was planted. These warriors fought each other and most were killed.
