Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Math: Which of these fractions is not equivalent to the other 3?

Answer: 115/345

The incorrects equal 1/2, and 115/345 simplifies to 1/3. That was the easiest question on this quiz.
2. History: What was the name for the area of present-day France during the time of the Roman Empire?

Answer: Gaul

The French language is a Romance language, which means that it is primarily derived from Latin (as spoken). During their occupation, the culture of Rome sifted into Gaul and shaped the French language. This also occurred in Spain and Italy, which is why all three current languages are very much alike.

Answer: True

Corpulent is a synonym of large.
4. Pop culture: What was the first band to record four consecutive triple-platinum albums?

They were The Grand Illusion, Cornerstone, Pieces of Eight, and Paradise Theatre. Kilroy Was Here, the next album, sold just over 2.5 million copies.

8. Foreign Language: What is the French word for the number 60?

Answer: Soixante

Cinquante is 50, seize is 16, and vingt is 20.
9. Entertainment: What was the original name given to motion pictures when they first hit the mainstream?

They were given this because the pictures moved. How observant!
10. Food and Drink: What was the original name of the soft drink Pepsi?

Answer: Brad's Drink

I had to put this in the quiz, my name is Brad! I hope you liked my quiz! There were some easy ones, I thought, but most of it was hard. Give me some suggestions! I love reading e-mail! If you got over 6, congratulate yourself. You have exceeded my expectations and would be a worthy opponent.
