Answer: Cleveland

The Cleveland Arcade opened in 1890. The city has a lot of fun facts, like being where the term "Rock and Roll" was coined, host city of several professional sports teams, and much more. In 1898, Coburn Haskell invented the modern golf ball in the city as well.

2. What is the nickname of the athletic teams at The Ohio State University?

Answer: Buckeyes

The Ohio State University uses the Buckeye as a mascot, which is also the Ohio State tree.

Rockets are the mascot for the University of Toledo, Bearcats go with the University of Cincinnati and Polar Bears are associated with Ohio Northern University.

3. The Cincinnati-Covington Bridge connects Ohio to what other state?

Answer: Kentucky

The Cincinnati-Covington Bridge, as it was originally known, was later renamed the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge after the man who designed it. It opened in 1866 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world at that time. It was later surpassed by the Brooklyn Bridge, another Roebling-design in 1883.

4. Jesup Wakeman Scott founded which Ohio college in 1872?

Answer: University of Toledo

Scott founded the school as Toledo University of Arts and Trades, but after a few years it went out of business. Scott was a former editor of the Toledo Blade.

The school reopened in 1984 as Toledo Manual Training School, this time with City funding and never closed again, though the name changed a few more times over its time.

5. The Cleveland Browns won 47 out of 54 games played in the All-America Football Conference before transferring to the NFL. How many times were they league champions of the AAFC?

Answer: 4

The Browns won the title each of the four years they were in the All-America Football Conference.

They hosted the title game in three of those four years. They beat the New York Yankees twice, The Buffalo Bills once and the San Francisco 49ers once.

They then went on to reach the NFL championship game every year from 1950-55, winning it in 1950, 54 and 55.

6. Which of the following performers was NOT included in the inaugural class of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees when the museum opened in Cleveland in 1995?

Answer: Michael Jackson

While Michael Jackson wasn't included in the first class, he was inducted twice, as both a solo musician and as a member of the Jackson Five.

The rest of the list were inducted just once each.

Eric Clapton, as a solo, and as a member of both Cream and The Yardbirds, has been inducted three times.

7. What movie, which featured a "major award" in the shape of a leg lamp, has a museum in Cleveland?

Answer: A Christmas Story

The three wrong answers were all set in Ohio, but none of them featured the leg lamp.

In Cleveland, there is a house with a museum across the street dedicated to "A Christmas Story". The house was used for the exteriors shot in the movie, which was set in Indiana.

The photo used is of a room inside the museum.
8. Reproduction panels from "Action Comics #1" are posted on a fence outside of the house of which Superman creator, who lived in Cleveland when the character was imagined?

Answer: Joe Shuster

Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel co-created Superman in 1932. The first Superman story was published in "Action Comics #1" in 1938. Shuster and Siegel were childhood friends who lived a few blocks from each other. The comic was reproduced in large format and hung on the fence outside of the house, which sits at the corner of Joe Shuster Lane and Lois Lane, in Cleveland.

The photo used is of the cover and some of the panels of "Action Comics #1" on the fence.
9. Through the election of Donald Trump, seven of the first 45 U.S. Presidents were from Ohio, making it the top producing state in that area.

Answer: False

Ohio has had seven presidents born in the state, and an eighth with deep ties to the state, but Virginia has had eight future presidents actually born within its borders.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor and Woodrow Wilson were all from Virginia, while Ulysses Grant, Rutherford Hayes, James Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William Taft and Warren Harding were all from Ohio.

The Buckeye state also lays claim on William Henry Harrison, who lived most of his life in the state, and served as a U.S. Rep. and Senator for the state. He was living in Ohio when he was elected president.

10. What year was Ohio admitted into the Union as a state?

Answer: 1803

Ohio was the 17th state admitted to the Union. It was formally admitted on Feb. 19, 1803, but celebrates the anniversary on March 1. The reason for that is March 1 was the first time the state's government officially met.
