Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many brains do leeches have?

Answer: 32

Leeches suck blood, and that is pretty much all they do with their 32 brains, so why do they even have 32 brains, why not give them to some higher-on-the-food-chain mammal? Not all of them are really "brains" the way people think of them. They are just groups of nerves called ganglia. Only 4 are in the head.
2. What is the third last entry in the 1960 edition of "Webster's New School and Office Dictionary"?

Answer: Zyrian

"Zyrian" is the name of a northeastern Russian people. "Zythem" is an ancient malted wheat drink and is second last. "Zyzzle" is last and means to make a spluttering or hissing sound. My friend made up "zzyli".
3. Why did Andy Milonakis ("The Andy Milonakis Show", "Jimmy Kimmel Live") look like a teenager in his late twenties?

Answer: no one really knows for sure

Andrew M. Milonakis is actually 29 at the time this quiz was published (born 1/30/76), but looks like a teenager. People aren't sure why exactly this is, but rumors include a growth hormone condition. Jimmy Kimmel discovered him in 2003, and had him star on "The Jimmy Kimmel Show" in 2003-2004. Milonakis also appeared in a 2005 movie called "Waiting..."
4. John Wyclif was the first person to translate the Bible into English. What body part is included in the modern name of the town he was born in?

Answer: Hip

John Wyclif was born in Ipreswell, the modern name of which is Hipswell.
5. How long is the CD "S.C.I.E.N.C.E." by Incubus in seconds (The remastered version including "A Certain Shade Of Green")?

Answer: 2724

"S.C.I.E.N.C.E." is the second CD by Incubus and includes 12 songs. The case has the periodic table of elements and someone's head named Chuck that's on every Incubus CD cover except "Make Yourself."
6. If the estimate that it took 20 years to build the Great Pyramid is accepted, how many blocks would have to be set per minute if 2.4 million blocks were used, assuming 10 hour work days, working every day?

Answer: 0.55 blocks/minute

To find this, do 2.4 million (blocks) / 20 years / 365 days / 10 work hours / 60 minutes to get 0.55 blocks per minute. ("/" means "divided by". I don't have a key for the real sign.) This makes it unlikely that it was done in 20 years, as blocks could weigh up to 80 tons for the interior of the pyramid.
7. What word appears most frequently in the song "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day?

Answer: the

"The" appears eight times, "in" four, "time" six and "it/it's" also four times. Billie Joe recorded this song solo, using an accoustic guitar. Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool liked the song, so it was put onto the album "Nimrod" and released on October 14th, 1997. The length of the whole "Nimrod" album is 49 minutes and 5 seconds.
8. What time did Queen Elizabeth I die on March 24, 1603?

Answer: 3:00 AM

She became seriously sick on March 18, but refused to go to bed, staying on a pile of cushions on the floor. When her counselor William Cecil told her she must go to bed, she supposedly said, "Little man, little man, 'must' is not a word to use to princes." She was succeeded by James I (VI of Scotland), son of her cousin Mary.
9. What is the time signature for the "1812 Overture" by Tschaikovsky?

Answer: 4/4

For all the non-musical people, this means that there are four beats in each measure and a quarter note gets one beat. The "1812 Overture", contrary to what people might think, has nothing to do with the War of 1812. It was written to celebrate Russian victories in the Napoleonic Wars.
10. How many words was the official name of the only child of Marie Antoinette's to survive past ten (not including "da", which means "of" and is not a name)?

Answer: 4

Marie Therese Charlotte de Bourbon was her whole name (de means of and doesn't count as a name). Sopie died in 1787 at the age of eleven months. Louis Charles was the second son, but became King Louis XVII when his father died and he was seven. Louis Charles died in prison at the age of ten in 1795. Louis Joseph died of tuberculosis of the bones in 1789 at the age of seven. Marie Therese was born in 1778 as the Madame Royale, Princess of France.

She was freed from prison in 1795, the only member of her family to survive. Marie married her cousin Louis Antoine and died in 1851 with no children.
