Answer: Isle of Man Parliament

The Tynwald is made up of two Houses - the House of Keys and the Legislative Council. It has been in existence since the eighth century and is the longest unbroken parliament in the world. It holds an outdoor meeting annually in St John's on July 5th.
2. Where is Tristan da Cunha?

Answer: Atlantic Ocean

Tristan da Cunha is a group of volcanic islands in a remote part of the South Atlantic Ocean. The capital city is Edinburgh of the Seven Seas.

Tolkien was born in Bloemfontein in South Africa but was brought up in Birmingham, England after his father's death. His mother died when he was twelve years old but she ensured that he had a Catholic upbringing. He fought at the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

After the war he held various academic posts. He was the creator of Middle Earth and wrote the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, 'The Hobbit' and 'The Silmarillion' He was friendly with C S Lewis and both of them were members of a literary discussion group called 'The Inklings' He died in 1973.

A tabor is a small drum attached to the forearm and played with one hand while a small pipe is played with the other hand. This type of music, called 'Pipe and Tabor', has been found all over Europe during the last eight hundred years.
8. What is a tocsin?

Answer: An alarm bell or signal

A tocsin is an alarm or signal produced by a bell. An example is the Lutine Bell in the Lloyd's Building in London. It is sounded on ceremonial occasions, once for good and twice for bad news. It was rung for the World Trade Centre disaster and is rung every year at the beginning and end of the two minutes silence on Armistice Day.
9. How many thoracic vertebrae are there?

Answer: 12

The twelve thoracic vertebrae form that part of the spine from the neck to the lower back. They increase in size from top to bottom to cope with strain put on the spine during movement. They are separated by discs of cartilage which over time become compressed leading to a decrease in height in old age.

A pair of ribs is attached to each thoracic vertebra. The ribs form a cage to protect the heart and lungs.

Answer: The Warden

'The Warden' was written by Anthony Trollope.

Joanna Trollope was born in her grandfather's rectory in 1943. She is a member of the same family as Anthony Trollope. Her novels are mostly about the problems of modern middle-class life.
