2. When DJs in the Buffalo NY area compiled a list of the top 200 wedding songs on their 2012 website, in at number 200 was a number by the Sugarhill Gang that shared a name with a native North American people. Which of these was it?

Answer: Apache

I'm sure we've all sung along to that tune at our favourite cousin's wedding.
Altogether now:
"Tonto, jump on it, jump on it, jump on it...
Kemosabi, jump on it, jump on it, jump on it...
Custer, jump on it, jump on it, jump on it...
Apache, jump on it, jump on it, wowowowowowowowowo!
A-hunga-hunga-hunga-hunga..."

"Apache" was a US Hot 100 Number 53 in 1981.

The top five of that list were: 1, "You Shook Me All Night Long", by AC/DC; 2, "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson; 3, "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas; 4, "Love Shack" by the B-52s; 5, "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz.
3. In which board game might you face the instruction "Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200"?

Answer: Monopoly

Although the principle of the game dates back to about 1904, the board game as we know and love it today came into being in the mid 1930s. The streets were named after locations in and around Atlantic City, New Jersey, but by start of the 21st Century board layouts based on many other cities had been developed.
4. Which Asian country produced a 1986 movie called "200 Pounds Beauty"?

Answer: South Korea

This was the story of an overweight phone company employee who sang the words of songs that a hit singer mimed. Determined to be more than a voice, she underwent radical surgery to reduce her weight. She then began a singing career under a new persona.
5. In 2010, which of these motor manufacturers introduced a car with the number 200 in its name?

Answer: Chrysler

The Chrysler 200 was a mid-sized sedan that was introduced to replace the Sebring. It was produced at the Sterling Heights plant in Michigan, which incidentally had the distinction of having been opened in 1953 to produce missiles. (Not quite turning swords to ploughshares, but close).
6. In 2003, the British Broadcasting Corporation began a survey to find "the nation's best-loved novel". "The Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkien topped the list and in at Number 200 was "Flowers In The Attic". Which US novelist wrote it?

Answer: Virginia Andrews

"Flowers In The Attic" was the first in a five-book series and was published in 1979. It's the tale of an American family whose life was changed for ever by the death of their father. Louise Fletcher, Victoria Tennant, Kristy Swanson, and Jeb Stuart Adams starred in the 1987 movie version.

Others in the top five were: 2, "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen; 3, "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman; 4, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams; 5, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" by J K Rowling.

Catherine Cookson and Sue Townsend was both British-born authors, Cecelia Ahern was Irish.
7. In which of these countries was the first world record for a train of more than 200mph set?

Answer: France

In 1955, a record of 206mph was set on tracks between Bordeaux and Dax.
To add a little perspective, the first authenticated 100mph by a steam engine was set by 'The Flying Scotsman' in England in 1934. In 2007, a new world record of 357mph, by an electric train, was set in France. The world's first railway steam locomotive set a world record (obviously) of 5mph in 1804 in England.
8. In July 2011, a movie called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" reached gross takings of $200m at the box office. How long did that take to achieve from the date of release?

Others to gross $200m in five days included "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: (2009) and "The Dark Knight" (2008), which went on to gross $500m in 45 days. (Of the three, "The Dark Knight" was the top grossing in five days, $203,773,518). Source: boxofficemojo.com
9. The North West 200 is a famous sporting event in Northern Ireland. Which of these sports does it involve?

Answer: Motorcycle racing

The NW 200 was first staged in 1929 and over the years has become a mecca for racers and fans alike, attracting crowds of up to 150,000 in the first week of May each year. It is based on a route between the towns of Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart on the north coast and is raced on ordinary roads, the type that are used by commuters and tourists for 51 weeks a year. Speeds in excess of 200mph have been achieved. Between 1939 and 2009, 14 competitors were killed in crashes in competition or practice. It was called the North West 200, because the original races were run over a distance of 200 miles.
10. In September 2011, Forbes Magazine compiled its annual list of the world's richest people. Top of the list were Carlos Slim Helu & family from Mexico. Number 200 on the list was occupied by more businessmen from south of the Rio Grande. From where did Carlos and Alejandro Bulgheroni hail?

Answer: Argentina

Pity poor Carlos and Alejandro, they had to get by on $51bn while the Helu family had a gross wealth of $74bn.
Bill Gates, former 'richest man on the planet', was number two on that Forbes list with a worth of $56bn.
The Helu family made their fortune from telecommunications and the Bulgheroni family from oil.
The 2011 list broke records with 1,210 billionaires included, and total net worth $4.5 trillion.
