Anne Boleyn was married to Henry VIII and was his second wife. She was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 until she was charged with high treason and executed. She was charged with adultery, incest and plotting against the King but the likely story is that Henry needed to get her out of the way so that he could marry Jane Seymour. Anne was beheaded and it is said that her ghost haunts the Tower of London, where the execution took place. Anne Hathaway was the wife of William Shakespeare who was called the bard. Anne was twenty-six when she married the eighteen year old William and she was pregnant with his child at the time.

Not much is known about her and there is quite a bit of speculation about her amongst historians. Shakespeare died before she did and he famously left her the "second-best bed and furniture" in his will.

Jane Porter is a fictional character from the "Tarzan" series, created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. She is the love interest of Tarzan and becomes his wife. She is included in several Tarzan books, movies and TV shows. Elizabeth Bennet is the protagonist of the novel "Pride and Prejudice" which was written by Jane Austen. Austen wrote six major novels during her lifetime including "Emma" and "Sense and Sensibility." Often in her novels are the themes of marriage, dependence and social standing. Actress and activist Jane Fonda launched a series of fitness videos that were incredibly popular during the 1980s. Between 1982 and 1985 she sold over seventeen million videos, helped to make leg warmers a major fashion trend and influenced other women to get into the fitness industry.

The Gold Medal javelin thrower is Dana Zatopkova, a Czech athlete who participated in several Olympic Games. In 1952 she won Gold, in 1960 she won Silver and she was European champion in both 1954 and 1958. At the age of thirty-five she broke a world record for the javelin throw, making her the oldest woman to do that during an outdoor event.

The beheaded Queen is Mary Queen of Scots who was charged with plots against Queen Elizabeth, imprisoned and executed in 1587.

The follower of Jesus is Mary Magdalene, who is said to have traveled with Jesus and his followers. Her name is mentioned in the gospels more than any other woman and she was a witness to his execution and resurrection. Mary Martin was an American actress who had several key roles in musicals.

She was a muse of Rogers and Hammerstein and played Maria Von Trapp in "The Sound of Music" and Nellie Forbush in "South Pacific." She also played Peter Pan in the musical of the same name.

The former lawyer who was born in Florida was nominated by President Bill Clinton and was the first female Attorney General of the U.S. Janet Rono is a Kenyan long distance runner who specializes in the grueling marathon distance. Rono has won several marathons including the 2011 Hong Kong Marathon and the 2013 Cologne Marathon.

Her fastest marathon time was in 2014 at 2:26:03 hours! Another female first by a Janet was Janet Jagan.

She was the first female Prime Minister and the first female President of Guyana, serving in that capacity from 1997 to 1999. She was a member of Parliament for forty-six years becoming the longest serving member of Parliament in Guyana. She was awarded the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Gold Medal for Women's Rights in 1998.
