Found mostly north of the Arctic Circle, the Kola Peninsula actually enjoys relatively warm winter temperatures thanks to the Gulf Stream. Its name in Finnish, Kuolan niemimaa, translates approximately to "peninsula of slobber".

The Alaska Peninsula, along with the Aleutian Islands, form a boundary between the Bering Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Bristol Bay is an arm of the Bering Sea near the southern coast of Alaska. The Seward Peninsula is also found in Alaska and is named after William H. Seward, who negotiated the purchase of the current U.S. state from Russia in 1867.

The Indonesian island of Sulawesi (formerly called Celebes) resembles the letter "K" and consists of the South, East, South-east, and Minahassa Peninsulas. The Christ Blessing Statue, Asia's second tallest statue of Christ at 50 m (158.3 ft) tall, is found in Manado, the city at the eastern tip of the Minahassa Peninsula.

Finally, the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, Australia, is a large prominence of flat land and unspoiled wilderness separating the Gulf of Carpentaria from the Coral Sea.

The Leizhou Peninsula juts out between the Gulf of Tonkin in the west and the South China Sea in the east. It is separated from Hainan Island (China's smallest and southernmost province) by the narrow Qiongzhou Strait, also called Hainan Strait. The Shandong or Jiaodong is another Chinese peninsula; it faces the Bohai and Yellow Seas in the east of the country.

The Aupouri Peninsula lies between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean and is home to a number of capes vying for the title of New Zealand's northernmost point (of the main islands, that is). One of these is Cape Reinga, of the phrase "From Cape Reinga to The Bluff" which is meant to refer to New Zealand in its entirety from north to south.

This song, "Mull of Kintyre," became the first single in the UK to sell over two million copies. Knapdale is the stretch of land which joins Kintyre to mainland Scotland, specifically to Argyll.

The Anatolian Peninsula, which makes up about two thirds of the Asian part of Turkey, lies between the Black and Mediterranean Seas. Along with the term "Asia Minor", it refers to the westernmost part of the Asian continent. Both the Malay and Indochinese Peninsulas are found in Southeast Asia, while the Liaodong Peninsula is in northeastern China and partially separates Korea Bay from the Bohai Sea.

The Kamchatka Peninsula, part of Kamchatka Krai, is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Volcanoes of Kamchatka, as well as Geyser Valley.
