Fakenham is actually quiet a picturesque old market town with one especially nice little bistro that I frequent. The "most boring place on earth" quote originally appeared on The Knowhere Guide website (a website for people to contribute their views on their hometowns) but was jumped on by a newspaper who reported it as a fact.

Answer: Hunstanton

Although Hunstanton is an east coast town it in fact points west due to the coastline around The Wash. It is, therefore, possible to watch the sun set over the sea. The other oddity of Hunstanton are its cliffs which due to alternate banding of red and white limestones gives them a stripey appearance.

Answer: Holme-Next-The-Sea

The Norfolk Coast Path runs from Hunstanton to Cromer whilst the Peddars Way goes from Knettishall Heath in Suffolk to Holme-Next-The-Sea where they meet. Together they form one of the 14 English and Welsh national trails and cover a distance of 97 miles.
Holme-Next-The-Sea is also famous for being the site of the enigmatic Seahenge, an early bronze age timber circle which was discovered on the beach nearby (it has since been excavated and removed for preservation).

The Norfolk Broads are a series of lakes and rivers, many of which are navigable, which cover around 117 square miles of Norfolk and neighbouring Suffolk. The Broads are mostly man made and due to flooding of medieval peat workings.

Norfolk has a reputation as being flat and its county high point is the lowest of any of the English counties. Beacon Hill is formed from deposits left by glaciation at the end of the last ice age.

Boudicca was a queen of the local Iceni tribe who lived in what is now Norfolk. She led a rebellion against the occupying Roman army that managed to destroy the towns of Colchester, London and St Albans. She was eventually defeated in battle by the legions.

Answer: Lord Horatio Nelson - Naval Hero

Horatio Nelson was born in the village in 1758. Unfortunately the building he was born in was demolished shortly after his father's death. However, the local pub which was renamed in his honour in 1798 still stands and does a very fine line in hospitality. It was here that Nelson hosted a dinner party for all the young men of the village prior to his departure to serve on HMS Agamemnon.

Answer: Sandringham House

Sandringham House is a royal residence in North Norfolk. The original building was bought by Queen Victoria in 1862 but this was razed to the ground and rebuilt after it was decided that it was too small for their needs. The present building dates from 1865 and is used as a holiday home for the Royal family. King Haakon VII of Norway and Queen Maud used Sandringham as a place to stay whenever they visited England.

Sheringham is a former fishing village on the North Norfolk Coast. It is also one of the termini of the preserved North Norfolk Railway which operates steam trains between the town and Holt. This line is known as The Poppy Line due to the large number of wild flowers in this area of Norfolk which itself is often called Poppyland.

The bridge disaster occurred on 2 May 1845. A suspension bridge which was crowded with children collapsed killing 79. Apparently they had gathered to watch a clown in a barrel being pulled down the river by geese. As the clown passed under the bridge the children ran to the other side causing the weight to shift and the chains on the south side to snap, tipping over the bridge. Very sad but I'm sure you would have got long odds from a bookmaker if you had predicted it.
