Vancouver is located on the Burrard Peninsula at the mouth of the Fraser River. It is the largest city in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The Strait of Georgia separates the city from Vancouver Island. Vancouver is an important terminal for most cruise ships especially those leaving for Alaska. The city was also host to the Winter Olympics in 2010.
