Belfast is Ireland's second largest city, it sits on Belfast Lough at the mouth of the River Lagan. For many years Belfast had a thriving ship building industry, over the years many famous ships were built in Belfast's ship-yards, the most famous is undoubtedly the ill-fated Titanic.

Carrickfergus, one of the oldest towns in Ireland, is famous for the Norman castle built by John De Courcy to-wards the end of the 12th century.

Each year Dungloe hosts a traditional Irish music and cultural festival, the festival culminates in the choosing of a local beauty, to be 'Mary of Dungloe' for the following year.

Connemara is part of Co. Galway and is one of the most beautiful and scenic places I have ever had the good fortune to visit. From the Twelve Bens mountain range, to the Atlantic beaches and the wonderful cliffs near Clifden, this area of Co. Galway is awe inspiring. Do you get the idea that I'm impressed?

The song I listened to was 'The Galway Shawl'. Galway is the largest and most famous city on Ireland's west coast.

Banbridge lies at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, as the name implies, it is one of the main crossing points over the River Bann, the longest river in the north of Ireland. Banbridge is one of many towns that the A1, the main route between Belfast and Dublin, used to pass through, and although only 14 miles from my home in Newry, because the town is by-passed, I do not get to spend as much time in Banbridge as I would like.
