Cleveland was named after its founder, Moses Cleaveland, who founded the city in 1796. Numerous attractions spread across the city, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cleveland hosts an annual air show at Burke Lakefront Airport right next door, with First Energy Stadium, home of the NFL's Browns, just down the road. MLB's Cleveland Indians home field is found right next door to the home arena for the NBA's Cavaliers, which is also home to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey team, which plays in the AHL, the equivalent to minor leagues in baseball.

Founded in 1825, Akron quickly became known for its vast rubber production after Goodyear Tires was founded in 1898. Akron is home to the AA minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, the Akron Rubber Ducks. Formerly known as the Aeros, the team changed its name to the Rubber Ducks to pay homage to the city's famed rubber production. Aside from rubber, the city of Akron is best known for the Akron Children's Hospital, which treats roughly a million patients each year.

Their world class staff and treatments has led to an expansion of the Akron Children's name to other smaller locations in the state.

Even though the park boasts the largest number of roller coasters in the country, the people at Cedar Point are constantly updating and adding new rides every few years. Cedar Point may be one of the most popular parks in the country, but its location in the Buckeye State isn't nearly as well known.

Columbus is found near the center of the state, located in Franklin County. The state's most popular university, Ohio State, is based in Columbus. The Ohio State Reformatory is the most well known site located in Mansfield. Most of the film, starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, was shot in Mansfield. The film's plot is based around Shawshank Prison, located in Maine, and centered around Robbins' character, unjustly convicted for murdering his wife.

The city of Mansfield has payed homage to the film's success, by marking various locations from the film along what is known as "The Shawshank Trail." These locations have become tourist attractions for the film's fans.

There have been other films shot at the Ohio State Reformatory, but none have been nearly as successful as "Shawshank."

Located approximately 20 miles south of the city of Akron, Canton hosts the Hall of Fame Game every NFL preseason. NFL players inducted into the Hall of Fame are forever immortalized in Canton, and the Hall of Fame game pays homage to those players at the start of every season, by hosting the first preseason game on the league's calendar. President William McKinley was born and raised in Canton, and spent most of his life, and time as President there.

It's also the location of his final resting place, and the home of the First Ladies National Historic site, which honors the First Ladies of the United States.

At the end of the Toledo War, the state of Ohio was awarded the city, while in exchange, Michigan was granted most of what is now its Upper Peninsula.

Cincinnati is known as the "Chili Capital of the World," and is home to many franchises, including Skyline Chili. The development of steamboats in the early 1800s led to rapid success and expansion of the city, as it is situated on the banks of the Ohio River.
