County Donegal is one of the three counties of Ulster that is in the Republic of Ireland. There are nine counties in Ulster, and six of them are in Northern Ireland.

Dún na nGall literally means "fortress of the foreigners" and it is said to have received its name from a fortress erected there by the Danes. County Donegal has sometimes been called County Tirconaill throughout its history. Contae an Dún is Co. Down, Contae Dhoire is Co. Derry and Contae Loch Garman is Co. Wexford.

Answer: Glenveagh National Park

Glenveagh National Park is in the northwest of the county and it has an area of approximately 16,000 acres. The area was a private deer forest before becoming a national park in 1975. The park was officially opened to the public in 1986. Ballycroy is in Co. Mayo, the Burren in Co. Clare and Connemara in Co. Galway.
