Answer: Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral is in Kent. One of the most infamous incidents in English history occured here in 1170 when Archbishop Thomas Becket was slain in the cathedral by four knights, probably on the orders of Henry II.

Stratford-upon-Avon is in Warwickshire. It is most famous as being the birthplace of playwright and poet William Shakespeare (1564-1616).

Britain's seat of government, The Houses of Parliament, lies alongside the River Thames in London.

Stonehenge is a pre-historic site on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. Some of the stones were originally from the Mynydd Preseli in Pembrokeshire; there has been much speculation as to how they could have travelled such a distance (about 135 miles). I tend to favour the glacial erratic theory but no-one knows for sure.

Alton Towers Theme Park is in Staffordshire. It is one of the most popular destinations for thrill-seekers with many white-knuckle rides including Oblivion, Nemesis, Rita, Air and Ripsaw. I enjoy watching!

Answer: Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is an impressive cathedral in central London. One feature of the building is poets corner where several of Britain's best known poets are buried including Chaucer, Spenser, Tennyson and Masefield.

Answer: Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle is in Warwickshire, parts of the castle date back to Norman times. It is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Britain.
Richard Neville, 16th Duke of Warwick was known as 'The Kingmaker' during the Wars of the Roses.
10. Yolk mean star

Answer: York Minster

The first church built on the site of York Minster was a wooden structure around 627 AD. The current building is the largest Gothic structure in northern Europe.
