The domed Renaissance Revival-style building, designed by Edwin May and Adolph Scherrer, was completed in 1888 and is the fifth statehouse.

These people took the Wizard seriously. One of the highlights is the Oz Fantasy Parade, led by actual "Munchkins" from the film (yes, they really were little people). You could also trade collectibles, get autographs from the stars, or dress up as your favorite Oz character. The festival was canceled in 2009.

James Dean, the popular American movie idol of the 1950s, was born and is buried in Grant County, Indiana. Answer: Frank Sinatra

Frank Sinatra, one of the most popular of all American singers, spent some of his earliest time as a "lounge singer" in Indiana. He once said that he got his unique style by trying to imitate Dorsey's trombone with his voice.

On March 31, 1880, the city of Wabash began an experiment to determine the feasibility of electricity, the newest source of energy. Both experts and the public determined that it was a success, with a total cost of $712 per year to light the entire city by electricity.
