Answer: Kansas

The largest ball of twine can be found in Cawker City, Kansas. It weighs over 17,500 pounds. Started by farmer Frank Stoeber in 1953 from bailer twine used for hay bales, the ball has grown to a circumference of over 40 feet. It grows annually at the Cawker City twine-a-thon which is held concurrently with a town picnic and parade.

At the twine-a-thon Cawker City residents and visitors wind more twine around this huge ball. So, it is still growing !
2. Which U.S. state has the largest glass sculpture?

Answer: Nevada

The magnificent Fiori di Como chandelier hangs in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is an astounding 65 1/2 feet by 29 1/2 feet in size. It is made of over 2,000 handblown 18-inch colored glass discs. Artist Dale Chihuly created this beautiful masterpiece.

Answer: Pennsylvania

The Philadelphia Zoo opened to the public in 1874. It now is home to over 1,600 animals. Besides being the oldest zoo in America, the Philadelphia Zoo boosts other claims to fame. It was the first U.S. zoo to exhibit an adult male elephant, in the year 1888.

Other firsts include the birth of the first orangutans in a United States zoo (1928) and the first cheetah zoo birth in the world (1956).

At the immense size of almost 13.2 million acres Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in Alaska is the largest in the United States. Made up of three mountain ranges which include the Chugach, Wrangell and St. Elias, it is no wonder the park is called the "mountain kingdom of North America."
5. Which U.S. state has the world's longest sea cave?

Answer: Oregon

Sea Lion Cave is 360 feet long. It is located on the Pacific coast near the town of Florence, Oregon. It is home to Stellar and California sea lions. The sea lions gather in the cave in the fall and winter. In the spring and summer their babies are born on ledges outside the cave. It is believed that the cave began forming about 25 million years ago.

Answer: Arizona

The sun shines about 328 out of 365 days a year in Yuma, Arizona. That's 90 percent of the year! With all this sunshine and the nearby Colorado River, Yuma produces a large yield of agriculture products.

Radio City Music Hall is the queen of all cinemas. With a seating capablity of 5,910, the hall towers to the height of 84 feet. It opened in New York City in 1932. It truly lives up to its nickname which is "The Showplace of the Nation".

Middleton Place Gardens are located near Charleston, South Carolina. In 1741 these beautiful gardens were designed by plantation owner Henry Middleton. The gardens cover an area of 65 acres. They were an imitation of the gardens at the Palace of Versailles. They have been enjoyed by visitors since the 1920s.
10. Which U.S. state has the most sandhill cranes?

Answer: Nebraska

Can you imagine between 400,000 to 500,000 cranes in one area at a time? Springtime every year brings that many sandhill cranes to their resting spot along the Platte River. On their long journey from the south to their nesting grounds in the north, the cranes rest for about 5 weeks along the river between Grand Isle and Sutherland, Nebraska.

They then fly northward to Minnesota, Canada and even over the Bering Strait to east Siberia.
