Located in southeastern British Columbia, Cranbrook lies at the confluence of the Kootenay and St. Mary's Rivers. The Canadian Museum of Rail Travel was founded in 1977 and focuses on 20th century rail travel in that nation. Cranbrook is located at the junctions of Highways 3 and 93/95. The Canadian Pacific Railway traveled through Cranbrook.
