Findel Airport (the official name is Luxembourg Airport) is located around 7 km from the city center. It is linked to many cities in Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Findel is also a major continental cargo hub.

Until the end of World War I there were eight grand duchies in Europe: Finland, Luxembourg and the six Grand Duchies of the former German Empire. Now Luxembourg is the only one remaining.
