Answer: Hawai'i

The Parker Ranch was established on the Island of Hawai'i in 1847 on a grant of land made by King Kamehameha I to John Palmer Parker. It is approximately 500 years old and not perfectly stable which compels the Park Service to post lots of warnings.
5. Haleakala is situated on which Hawaiian island?

Answer: Maui

According to legend, the god Maui stood on the summit of Haleakala and used a lasso to slow the sun as it crossed the sky. This is why, some say, that days are longer on the Island of Maui. The mountain is managed by the National Park Service.

Answer: Hawai'i

When people call Saint Benedict's Catholic Church in Honaunau, on the Island of Hawai'i, "the painted church," it is in reference to the frescoes on the interior walls and ceiling. His century-old work is well preserved; the church is open for both visitors and daily mass.

8. On which Hawaiian island can the Mokupapapa Discovery Center be found?

Answer: Hawai'i

The full name of Mokupapapa is the Mokupāpapa Discovery Center for Hawaiʻi's Remote Coral (which is too long to paint on a sign). Since 2003, the center has offered exhibits, classes and an aquarium teaching about the remote Northwestern Hawaiian Islands which are populated by birds, seals and turtles but not people.

Answer: Hawai'i

The Waipiʻo Valley is a two-thousand-foot (610 meters) deep valley in the Hamakau District of the Island of Hawaiʻi. There are multiple waterfalls in this valley, leading run-off to a black-sand beach in the ocean. The Hawaiian word "Waipiʻo" means curved water.

The base of these falls was the home of island royalty. The road leading down into the valley (Waipi'o Valley Road) is one of the steepest in the world and is closed to all but residents. There is also a trail called the Waimanu Trail or the Muliwai Trail.

In the 1995 motion picture "Waterworld," the final scene (the one where they find land) was shot at Waipi'o Falls.
10. On which Hawaiian island is the Polynesian Cultural Center situated?

Answer: O'ahu
