1. What did Parliament want Charles to sign in order for them to give Charles money?

Answer: Petition of Rights

The Petition of Rights lifted martial law against private citizens, prevented the billeting of troops, ensured no imprisonment without just cause, Parliament became supreme, and restored habeas corpus.
2. Why did Charles need money from Parliament, which forced him to sign a document?

Answer: Buckingham had launched an unprofitable war with Spain

Charles needed to pay the army (or they'd revolt).

And the Scots refused as they preferred their own religion.
6. What is the nickname of the second Parliament which sat in 1640?

Answer: Long Parliament

It went until 1653 or 1660, depending on the source. This was the first time the Parliament thought that they sat by right and weren't a temporary body.

Answer: Parliament had to meet every 3 years and can't be dismissed without consent

This was to prevent the King from acting without Parliament's guidance.

About 618,000 people were killed. Cromwell then turned his attention to Scotland and killed about 60,000 people (6 percent of the population).
10. The effect of Cromwell's killing in 1651 was that the bulk of the Irish population was forced into which province?
