Answer: 1368-1644 A.D.

1644-1911 was the time of the Qing (Manchu) dynasty. 2200-1766 B.C. was the time of the Xia dynasty, which was the earliest Chinese dynasty. 202 B.C. - A.D. 9 were the years of the Early Han dynasty.
2. Who was the first Ming emperor?

Answer: Hong Wu

After a thirteen-year campaign, Hong Wu (born Zhu Yuan Zhang, also known as Chu Yuan-chang) captured Beijing from the Mongols and drove them out of China, ending the Yuan dynasty. Hong Wu became the ruler of China in 1368, and ruled for thirty years. His name means "warlike". Before he became the emperor of China, he was a Buddhist monk, but joined a rebellion in order to overthrow the Mongols.

Answer: Zhu Yunwen

Zhu Yunwen chose the name Jianwen (as his reign title), and strengthened China by fortifying its capital. The economy greatly flourished during Jianwen's reign.

Li Cheng was a famous artist during the Song dynasty, and Wuwei and Wu Di can be traced back to the Han dynasty. Landscape artwork, as well as ceramics, was very popular during the Ming dynasty. Literature also grew in popularity during the Ming Dynasty, and four famous novels were written.

These were "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", "The Water Margin (All Men Are Brothers)", "Journey to the West", and "The Golden Lotus".
