Latvia adopted the Euro as its currency on January 1st, thus becoming the 18th country to do so. Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania; Tallinn is the capital of Estonia, and Minsk is the capital of Belarus.

Australia won the series 5-0, for only the third time in history. Over all the times the Ashes has been held, Australia have won 32 times, England have won 31 times, and there have been 5 draws.
