Answer: Ohio State Penitentiary

Morgan and 364 of his men were captured at the end of the longest cavalry raid of the war covering more than 700 miles in Ohio and Indiana. He and 30 of his officers were sent to the penitentiary in Columbus. On the night of Nov 20, 1863 they escaped after working on a tunnel for 20 days using two small knives to dig a tunnel.

Answer: Rifle bullets

Rifle bullets caused 90% of the wounds, artillery fire 5%, bayonets less than 4%. No record on land mines. Improvement of muskets by adding rifling to the barrels and the development of new ammunition for the rifled weapons increased their range to 400 yards.
3. The battle of Ball's Bluff took place in what state?

On October 21, 1861, Col. Edward Baker moved his brigade of 1,700 men across the Potomac River from Maryland into Virginia to attack a CSA force camped near Leesburg, Va. On the Virginia side was a 100-foot-high bank called Ball's Bluff.

To fill this gap he thought he had, he brought up a division from another section of the line creating a quater-mile gap in his line. CSA Gen. Longstreet's troops were able to charge through the gap opened by Rosecrans and split the Union line in two.

The camp was in NY. The CSA prisoners called it "Hellmira". It was created in June 1864. By the end of August 1864 almost 10,000 men were confined there. By the end of the war 2,963 prisoners had died there.

Answer: MO

Union Gen. Lyon launched a surprise attack on CSA troops that were camped on the banks of the creek. The Union troops were routed by superior numbers. About 1,300 casualties were suffered by each side. Lyon's was killed in the battle.
