The rank insignia for generals was found on the collar. For all grades, it consisted of three stars encircled by a wreath.
2. The CSA Conscription Act was enacted in April ,1862. What was the age of the men it would apply to?

Answer: 18-35

Under this Act all healthy white men between the ages of 18/35 were liable for a three-year term of service. This act also extended the terms of enlistment for all one-year soldiers to three years. In February, 1864, the age limits were extended to range between 17/50.
3. Scalawags were native Southern politicians who joined the Republican party after the war?

Answer: True

These men advocated the acceptance of and compliance with congressional Reconstruction. Two of the most prominent ex-Confederates to join were James Longstreet and John S. Mosby.

Gen. Stone was the first to be called before the committee. Although he was the overall commander of the Union forces defeated at Ball's Bluff he had almost nothing to do with the battle and was nowhere near the battle. He was arrested in February 1862 and spent 189 days in prison. He never did find out what charges were made against him.

He was in command of the CSA 2nd Corp when they set out in June 1864. He crossed the Potomac River and headed for Washington. He faced Union Gen. Lewis Wallace at the Monocacy River near Frederick, Md.

Answer: McClellan

After the defeat in the 1st Battle of Bull Run (Manassas) Pres. Lincoln replaced McDowell with McClellan who had gained national fame by taking credit for two of the few Union victories in the first year of the war, Rich Mountain and Corrick's Ford in western Virginia.
10. After his capture in May 1865 CSA President Davis was confined to this prison.

Answer: Fort Monroe

He spent 720 days of imprisonment there. A light was kept on 24 hours a day in his cell and he could not leave the cell for any reason.
